Competency is a characteris0c or behavior that underlies exemplary performance. Periodic assessment of individuals against competency models for their current work and aspira0ons and providing them feedback to help them move towards exemplary performance is the basis of competency based performance management system. • Defined competency framework for specific current & future roles • Judicious and Equitable measurement system for competencies • Competency development plan focused on establishing work goals, plans and standards

Methodology: The workshop will use 4 Interna0onally accepted and tested competency models to develop an imaginary competency profile and a use a performance measurement systems to develop each competency to the desired level

Mrs. Samer Awais is a Human Resource Management Professional with 22 years of experience in medium to large size na0onal and mul0na0onal environment across a variety of industries. Her areas of specializa0on include: • Designing and developing competency

During her career at Ericsson, she has successfully rolled out Integrated Talent Calibra0on process that combined 3 processes viz. performance management system, iden0fica0on of key contributors and Leadership talent pool candidates of nearly 4000 employees. Samer has designed and developed trainings and guidelines for Line
Managers on Leadership competence model, Performance improvement planning process, Coaching & Mentoring skills, and on giving and receiving feedback. In addi0on to this, she prepared “dashboards” for 400 Managers in the region-‐capturing their historical data in the Assessment Centers, performance indicators in Climate survey and details of Leadership development programs aWended. In her leadership role at Schering, she established a centralized HR func0on in addi0on to designing and conduc0ng Assessment Centers for merit based selec0ons and promo0ons. Samer standardized Hiring process by introducing Competency based Recruitment and Hiring prac0ces by developing in – house “Targeted Selec0on Interview Guides”. She also has a hands on experience of implemen0ng Performance Management System in addi0on to preparing HR Policies/Guidelines Manual She is adjunct Faculty Member for NUST Business School and Quaid -‐ e -‐ Azam School of Management Sciences. She is a Master’s in Public Administra0on and currently Director at Genzee Solu0ons Pvt. Ltd.
