BATTALION HISTORY Compllsed of men from every "tatc in the Union, the 0111' Hundred
and FortI' First :\;I\'a) Construction Battalion was formed at Camp Pl'ar\, Virginia, in earlr Octohn, 194-3.
Under the command of Lieutenant Commander L. C. Tsdwdy, the hattalion soon mm'ed to Camp Endicutt, Im.:ated at Davi:wil[c, Rhode bland, fur advanced training and schooling.
Late the same month. the hattalion maue the first of what was to pro\'{' many mo\'es ahout the area, wht'n it hiked up to the Sun Valley rifle range for a week 's ~ta\'.
Quonset huts and oil heaters. Pleasant eH'nings. Slow moving chow lines. Lock and luad. "Commence firing !" ehcd: targ-et 29. ",Hilggie's" drawers! 1'0 sun. Back to Endicott.
