Ultherapy70%
WORTH IT RATING BASED ON 434 REVIEWS Ultherapy is a skin firming treatment intended to tighten and lift brows, jawline, jowls, and
facial skin without invasive surgery. Average Price: $2,700
Ulthera causes a natural tightening and lifting of skin by building the body's own collagen
Because Ulthera works by stimulating the body’s healing and restorative
properties, it is true that the final result is usually seen after 3 months. This is the
amount of time that the new collagen growth occurs after the procedure. Patients
do report early changes ranging from actual brow elevation, mid face fullness, or
simply a firmer feel to the skin.
Ultherapy does work
Ultherapy works in almost everyone. In many patients the improvement becomes
more visible in the lower face 4-5 months after treatment, so be patient. It is also
very important that appropriate photography was used for the before and after
pictures. Because it takes months for the results to slowly be visible, the patient
seldom notices significant changes by looking in the mirror. You really have to
compare your appearance to the before photographs. We really do forget what we
used to look like. Overall, most are very happy with the results we can acheive
with this no downtime, non-surgical facial lifting device.
Should Ulthera Be Painful?Ulthera treatment hurts
We recommend medications. It seems to take the edge off. The results take time
but are worth it. It is recommend you take pain medication before the procedure.
What Risks Are Involved with Ultherapy?Risks with Ultherapy
The Ulthera company has strived to create a safe treatment above all else since
the beginning. It uses the same ultrasound that pregnant women use to visualize
the levels of skin and muscle. In experienced hands, risks are minimal. The most
common things that can happen are mild bruising and swelling after the
treatment. Another thing that can happen are small areas of swelling under the
skin or welts can be seen if the patient or the practicioner moves during the
treatment. Rarely, the patient can experience numbness, particularly of the ear,
or a weakness in the lower lip.
Long Term Effects of Ulthera Tightening on the Skin
We know that with up to 4 years of clinical use Ulthera has had no adverse effects reported on how it affects the skin. It has been shown histologically that Ulthera promotes natural collagen formation. Some patients are reporting that their skin tone, texture, and brown spots are improved a few months after their Ulthera treatment. There are no long term adverse effects on the skin after Ulthera that we need to be concerned about.
Age is not an issue, it is the degree of sagging that is a good indicator!
If you have so much skin laxity that you need a facelift, then you need a face lift.
Ulthera is more effectivve in mild to modertae skin laxity. If you have sever skin
laxity regardless of age, Ulthera is not the right answer for you.
Ulthera results are long-term
While Ulthera is a relatively new device, clinical experience so far indicates
results are long-lasting. Some patients have continued to show improvement for
as long as six months. Since the treatment stimulates collagen formation and
creates tissue tightening in this fashion, expectations for long term results are
high.
You will continue to age, however, and eventually the aging process will
overcome the improvements gained through the treatment. There is no reason a
secondary treatment, either Ulthera or sugical, couldn't be done at that time.
Ulthera is OK with dermal fillers but not same areas
The effects of Ulthera when applied directly on top of fillers such as Restylane or
Juvederm are not completely known but there isn't any reason to believe that
adjacent areas could not be done. For example, if fillers are placed in the
nasolabial lines (the furrows extending downward from the sides of the nose
towards the corners of the mouth) the cheeks could still be done with Ulthera for
a nice combined effect.
