SIMPLE PAST AND PAST PROGRESSIVESimple Past
Past Progressive
We use the simple past to describe an event or a short action in the past.
We use past progressive to describe a longer activity to give the background to an event.
Example: She was waiting for the next big wave when she saw a shark.When Shane kicked the cocodrile, it closed its jaws.
