In order to graduate and ‘walk the stage’ in May, students must:
+earn at least 26.0 credits
+earn credit for each of the specific courses designated by the Texas Education Agency
+pass all 4 parts of the exit level TAKS

·Dedicated to supporting academic excellence by generating private funds that will enable AISD to meet students’ needs that fall outside of school district budgets.

·Help students locate and apply for scholarships and financial aid.
·Assist students to complete the FAFSA form and the Texas Common Application.
·Assist students with essays for college admission and work with English teachers on essay topics.
·Meet with parents to share information about colleges and the college admissions process.
·Establish and maintain relationships with admissions and financial aid departments of colleges.
·Host campus tours of colleges of interest.
·Encourage and support students through the college experience.
·Offer interactive workshops and classroom presentations to middle school students.
·Leadership retreat for 8th graders.

ACT has a science section, while the SAT does not.
ACT questions tend to be more straightforward.
SAT stronger emphasis on vocabulary.
ACT Writing test is optional on test day, but required by many schools.
