Introduce the purposes of the research project during class�

Create student partnerships using a random yet transparent process�

Develop wiki template before students commence�

Wiki training in computer lab�

Emphasize to students how the project requires authentic

collaboration to create a class resource�

Make grades dependent on the quality of students’ work and

critique of one other pair’s work�

Invite students to focus groups to provide feedback on using a wiki

for a group project�

Provide ongoing technical support throughout project�

Recognize and celebrate students’ successful completion of the assignment using the wiki by providing them with a “gift” of their work in compact
