Exposition Term used to describe events at the beginning
of a story that set the scene and introduce background, characters, and conflict. The exposition is the starting point of a narrative and can be thought of as the status quo (a.k.a the existing state of affairs), before the complications of the plot begin.

Rising Action This part of the story begins to develop
the conflict(s). A building of interest or suspense occurs.

Climax This is the turning point of the story.

Falling Action All loose ends of the plot are tied up. The

Resolution and denouement
The story comes to a reasonable ending. The final part of a play, movie, or

Pathways: Dance spatial pathways and designs with accuracy, awareness of other dancers, and in clear spatial relationships to others.
Levels: Dance with purpose and intent on all levels (including lifts when appropriate) with an awareness of one’s relationship to other dancers and spatial design.
