RESEARCH, CONSULTANCY AND EXTENSION
Promotion of Research :
Strategies to promote faculty to do research
The institution provides the following facilities in order to motivate the teachers to
take up research in education:-
The faculty is granted 15 days on Duty / Academic leave to attend seminars and for
data collection for a research study.
The teachers are permitted to take casual leave to meet their guide regarding thesis
work.
The institution allows the staff members to use the (computer and internet facility for
data analysis and reference material) library and other facilities available in the
institution for their research work.
The college has a well equipped psychology lab. having various tools in psychology.
This inspires the teachers to do their research in Educational Psychology.
The teachers guide research of M.Ed. students and prepare standardized research
tools in education.
Registration fee is exempted for staff members in the National Seminar organized by
the institution itself.
Researches Conducted Research Output
All the faculty members are guiding research at M.Ed. level and four faculty members
are approved supervisors under whom 9 Ph.D. scholars are working. Faculty members
also undertake small research projects. Now that college has been registered under
regulation 12(B). Members will submit major, minor research projects to UGC. Prof.
PC. Doshi has completed 13 research projects and 23 students have been awarded
Ph.D. under his guidance.

Seminar
The institution organized two days seminar on 4th
and 5th
February 2012. All our staff
members presented papers in the National Seminar titled ―Women Empowerment: A
Challenge of 21st Century.‖ M.Ed. students also presented papers and the college also
published a pre-seminar publication. Total 255 participants participated in the seminar
representing 09 states.
Another National Seminar titled ―Teacher Education: Challenges of 21st Century‖ was
organized on 21st and 22
nd April 2012 by Dept. of Education , MLS University in
collaboration with RMTT College. All the faculty members actively participated in
seminar and presented papers. A pre-seminar publication was also published, in which
college had a major role. Our principal along with the faculty shouldered joint
responsibility of organizing the seminar with the Department of Education, Mohanlal
Sukhadia University, Udaipur.
Preparation of Teaching Learning Material
The teachers provide various instructional material prepared by them to the students
to enrich the learning process.
Student teachers prepare teaching aids under the guidance of experts. Science Lab,
Psychology Lab and Home Science Lab have been enriched by developing teaching
aids.
Four of our staff members attended professional development training programme
organized by SIERT.

Consultancy
Consultancy services are provided to various schools and colleges by some of our
faculty members. Apart from that they act as resource persons, judges and subject
experts in various programs related to teaching and learning process.
Principal of the College Dr. (Mrs.) Prabha Vajpeyee is associated with the University
(MLSU) in making Annual Examination progamme, inspection of the colleges, as a
member of selection committee NCTE inspection, IGNOU consultancy and
examination of all the Universities of Rajasthan. She is the member of Academic
Council.
One of the senior most faculties of the college Prof. P.C. Doshi is evaluating Ph.D. of
the students of various Universities and is the member of research board for the
approval of synopsis of Raj. Vidyapeeth and Banasthali Vidyapeeth. He has also
evaluated ―Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Programme‖ at Dungarpur District. He has
completed nearly 9 research projects (From 2001-2011). He is the member of visiting
team of NAAC, NCTE. He is the member of BOM and the member of Academic
Council of J.Rai Nagar R.V., Udaipur. He also acts as resource person and subject
expert of maths at SIERT, NCERT and delivers lectures in different colleges of
Education.

The institution played very important role in the revision of the B.Ed. syllabus of
MLSU. Academic support and guidance is also provided to other B.Ed. Colleges by
our faculty in the form of guest lecturers.

The institution is the study centre of Vardhman Mahavir Open University (VMOU).
Almost all the faculty members are providing their consultancy services to B.Ed. and
M.A. (Education). Six members guide the dissertation of M.A. (Education)
candidates.
Extension Activities
The college provides extension services to the practicing schools in the form of
demonstrations lessons, library services, supply of teaching aids prepared by our
student-teachers.
1) Eco Friendly Activities
Green, Clean eco friendly environment is ensured by the maintenance of a green
campus. The institution bans plastic products. Bio-degradable and non-biodegradable
wastes are disposed off separately. Thus, an effective waste management is ensured.
Collaborations:-
The institution is having collaboration with Mahaveer International. With its
assistance the college conducts blood donation camp every alternate year. Within the
same programme the students are enlightened towards the formation and types of
blood, need and benefits of blood donation.
The Institution has an informal linkage with practice teaching schools. Faculty
members visit the schools to get feedback of the performance of the student teachers
from Teachers and Heads of the Institutions. Based on the teaching feedback the
students are instructed to modify their activities in schools.
Healthy relationship with the faculty members of other colleges and universities is
maintained by our faculty members. They are encouraged to attend seminars
conducted in other institutions and to make our students participate in the inter-
collegiate competitions.
Regular meetings of all the members took place at Rajasthan Mahila T.T. College,
Vidhya Bhawan T.T. College and Nimbark T.T. College respectively and the
committee decided or finalized sub committees for syllabus framing and presentations
followed thereafter.
The senior faculty members have collaboration with NCTE & NAAC as they go for
inspection /Peer Team members.

Now an attempt is being made to answer various questions included in Criterion III –
3.1 Promotion of Research –
Q.1. How does the institution motivate its teachers to take up research in education.
Ans.- College encourages its faculty members to enroll for Ph.D., already 9 faculty
members have used this opportunity. Institution provides on duty leave when they go
for data collection.
Teachers are provided with various facilities such as free internet access,
augmentation of the laboratory and library facilities, on line resources, research
journals etc.
Teachers are encouraged to acquire higher qualification-M Phil, Ph.D. NET. SLET
etc.
About 30 research journals (national, international) are being subscribed/ purchased
for the library. All the volumes of survey of educational research are available in
the library, both students as well as teachers are encouraged to consult this material.
The institution motivates the teachers by permitting them to attend seminars/
conferences/workshops etc. Faculty members are encouraged to participate and
present their papers in national/ international conferences for which they are provided
on duty leave/ academic leave.

major out comes and impact?
Ans. - Yes, the institution encourages action research. Last year two researches were
conducted as Bhasha Ashuddi Sanshodhan and Handwriting Improvement of
pupil teachers.

the institution.
Ans. The college organized a National seminar on ―Women Empowerment‖ in the month
of February 2012 and in the same year another seminar ―Challenges in Teacher
Education‖ was also organized in collaboration with M.L. Sukhadia University. In the
seminar organized by the college on ―Women Empowerment‖, 225 members
participated from 9 states and pre-seminar publication containing abstracts of the
papers of the participants, keynote address and the theme initiation was published.
3.2 Research & Publication out put
Q. 1. Give details of instructional and other material developed including teaching aids
and or used by the institution for enhancing the quality of teaching during the
last three years.
Ans. 1. Print material such as lesson plans, charts, flash cards, Power point presentation
Transparencies, Non-print material such as models, charts and computer assisted
learning material is prepared by faculty members and the students .
2. The student teachers learn how to prepare and use teaching aids as part of their
sessional work assignments. They also use them during practice lessons and final
lesson.

3. The faculty members use ICT in presenting demonstration lesson as well as in theory
teaching.
4. An exhibition is organized at the end of practice teaching in which the teaching aids
are displayed. These teaching aids are also distributed to the practice teaching schools
and are also used by the students of next batch during their practice teaching.
Q. 2 Give details on facilities available with the institution for developing
instructional materials.
Ans. The facilities provided by the institution for developing instructional material are as
following:
(1) The institution has well equipped computer lab with 20 computers connected
in LAN which is used for developing instructional materials, power point
presentations and CAI.
(2) For development of print and non-print materials, the institution has separate
ET and computer labs well equipped with LCD, OHP, Slide Projector, White
Board and computers.
(3) Free internet facilities are provided to M.Ed./B.Ed. Students & faculty through
out the year, well equipped computerized library having reference books and
Journals/ Periodicals/ Magazines, E- Journal. Some other M.Ed./Ph.D.
students also visit the library for reference purpose.
Q.3. Did the institution develop any ICT/Technology related instructional materials

Ans. (1) The faculty members have developed:-
Few PowerPoint presentations.
Students have prepared lessons plans using ICT.
CAI materials are also used in practice teaching and such lesson plans are
available.

The institution has organized training programmes on instructional material
development for the pupil teachers in which they are trained by the faculty members
to prepare various teaching aids like charts, Transparencies, projects, models

3.3 Consultancy
Q.1. Did institution provide consultancy services in last five years? If yes, give details-

(1) Faculty members are invited by the practicing schools for guidance to their teaching
staff in the recent developments in Pedagogy. The faculty members also give
demonstration lessons in schools.
(2) Principal and professor of the college have delivered several lectures at
CTE/IASE/SIERT and other T.E.Is institutes, SSA invited Professor of the college to
supervise the allotted district programmes.
(3) Principal, Professor & staff of this college have chaired many national/ international
seminars.
(4) The faculty members of the college are engaged in inspection of B.Ed. colleges and
selection of Principal & lecturers of other colleges.

(5) The institution has also played a very important role in the revision of the syllabus of
M.L. Sukhadia University. The list of various faculty members involved in this
revision of syllabus has been given in Annexure -9
(6 ) Staff members of the college have delivered extension lectures in other B.Ed.
College and Sister concerns of RMV. Principal of the College Dr. (Mrs.) Prabha
Vajpeyee is the member of committee of course and Academic Council of M.L.
Sukhadia University and is very much engaged in helping the University in making
Annual examination programme, as a member of Selection Committee, NCTE
inspection VMOU consultancy etc.
(7) The honorable President of the institution Dr. A.B. Phatak is an outstanding
educationist of the day who is acting as advisor at several Teachers colleges, he has
been providing consultancy services to SIERT, NCTE, NCERT, CTE and IASE.
Q.2. Are faculty / staff members of the institution competent to undertake
consultancy? If yes, list the areas of competency of staff members and the steps
initiated by the institution to publicize the available expertise.
Ans.
Yes, the faculty members of the institution are competent to undertake consultancy.
The area in which consultancy is provided are given below:-
(1) Methodology of teaching different subjects.
(2) Action research.
(3) Educational technology.
(4) Development of Instructional material.
(5) ICT
The University, SIERT and other TEIs are well aware of the expertise available with
this college.
Q.3. How much revenue has been generated through consultancy in the last five
years? How is the revenue generated shared among the concerned staff members
and the institution?

Ans.
The institution provides consultancy services to the schools, department of Education
from where no consultancy fee is charged. Hence there is no revenue generated for
the institution.
Q. 4. How does the institution use the revenue generated through consultancy?
Ans. Since no revenue is generated through consultancy services, the question of its use
does not arise.
3.4 Extension Activities
Q.1. How has the local community benefited from the institution? (Contribution of
the institution through various extension activities, outreach programmes,
partnering with NGO’s and GO’s)?.
Ans.
(1) Students are involved in community services in collaboration with various
NGOs there by acquiring an awareness of social needs.
(2) The institution organizes Nuckkad Nataks, awareness rallies, tree plantation
Career guidance and counseling, Computer education, health & hygiene,
literacy programme, Diagnostic & remedial teaching.
(3) The faculty members and students of the college have also organized blood
donation camp in collaboration with Mahaveer International dated 13.12.12.
(4) The faculty members deliver extension lectures and demonstration lessons in
schools. Teaching aids prepared by students are also provided on demand of
the schools. Our faculty members also help schools in their efforts to bring
about improvement.
The institution has organized various extension activities and programmes to
benefit the local community. The details are as following:
(1) The pupil teachers are encouraged to plant the trees and take care of them.
(2) Aids awareness day was celebrated on Ist Dec. 2012.

Ans.
(1) The institution has been benefitted by the community in various ways :-
Institution school net working: - During practising programme all student
trainees interact well with the school staff. Besides class room teaching, the
pupil teachers organize and conduct the morning assembly.
(2) The local leaders such as M.P., M.L.A., Parshad of municipal council also
provide their full support to the institution.
(3) The government has given land free of cost to the institution.
Q. 3. What are the future plans and major activities the institution would like to take
up for providing community orientation to students.
Ans.
(1) Mentorship programme.
(2) To adopt one village and work once a week for the upliftment of villagers via
various activities. The student teachers will work there for at least three hours.
Pre test and post test will also be conducted for few academic activities.
(3) In the coming years, during the open air session, the students will be
conducting some research projects like:-
- Implementation of Right to Education.
- Attitude towards Women (girls) Education.
- Study of Environmental Awareness.
- Awareness Regarding Women‘s Rights.
- Socio-Economic Survey.
- Study of Enrolment and dropout rate in the villages where open air session is
organized.

its students?

Ans. The college has a student council through which the training in democratic values is
imparted. During open-air session camp the students‘ awareness is created regarding
the social problem and protection of our national heritage and environment. The
students also participate in activities like road safety week.
In order to inculcate sense of cleanliness among the pupil teachers, dustbins are
placed at different points in institution.
Various activities such as environmental awareness, social work, AIDS awareness,
population education, blood donation camp etc are organized to inculcate social
concern in the minds of the student teachers.
3.5 Collaborations
Q.1. Name the national level organizations, if any, with which the institution
has established linkage in last five years. Detail the benefits regulated out
of such linkages.
Ans –
(1) The college has linkage with NCTE, NCERT , NAAC and SIERT which is
responsible for maintaining the quality of teacher education imparted by the
college.
Dr. Prabha Vajpeyee, Principal and Dr. Praveen Doshi, Professor of the
college are in the inspection team of NCTE.
Prof. P.C. Doshi, is also the member of NCTE and NAAC who visits several
colleges of southern & northern region. We get literature from NCERT,
SIERT, NCTE, NAAC and our faculty members are invited as consultants
(2) The B.Ed. department is having collaboration with 12 Secondary/Hr. Sec.
Schools for teaching practice and final lesson examinations.

Ans. Institution has linkage with NCERT, NCTE, UGC, University, IASE and CTES, Other
TEIS, SIERT and schools. Our Faculty members are invited for seminars/ workshops
/Training programmes, they are invited for consultancy, we get literature from the
above mentioned institutions. We are able to invite experts for professional
development of our faculty. We get publications of NCERT, NCTE, UGC for our
library. The linkage with schools is helpful in organizing practice teaching and block
practice.
Q. 4. What are the linkages of the institution with the school sector?
Ans. The institution has close linkage with the adjoining schools through practice of
teaching and block practice teaching programme. The linkages are further being
strengthened through the extension activities of the institution.
Some of our alumni are acting as Principals and senior teachers in various reputed
schools.
Faculty members of this college are in close contact with sister concerns. Our Sr. Sec.
School and English medium school, Vision Academy for exchanging views on
academic issues.

Q.5. Is the faculty actively engaged in schools and with teachers and other school
personnel to design, evaluate and deliver practice teaching? If yes, give details.
Ans.- The faculty is actively engaged in schools with the teachers to design, evaluate and
deliver practice teaching in the following manners:-
(i) The meetings of the Heads of the practicing schools are organized in the
beginning and at the end of practice teaching in order to plan and evaluate
practice teaching programme. Their suggestions are helpful in improving the
quality of Practice Teaching Programme.
(ii) The portion of syllabus to be covered during teaching practice is decided in
consultation with teachers of practicing schools.
(iii) The practicing school teachers remain in the classes of student teachers, they
observe their lessons and sometimes give feedback to the student teachers.
Q. 6. How does the faculty collaborate with school and other college or university
faculty?
Ans. – The institution collaborates with other institutions and schools and University faculty
in the following manner:
(i) Collaboration with schools is ensured through practice teaching, block-
teaching and other extension activities.
(ii) Collaboration with other colleges is ensured by sending our faculty members
in the seminars, workshops and conferences organized by these colleges. We
also invite the faculty members of other colleges for some extension lectures.
Our senior faculty members go as resource persons for some activities in other
TEI.
(iii) The institution maintains close collaboration with University regarding
syllabus framing academic council, examination , inspection, committee of
courses etc.
(iv) The faculty members had shared major responsibilities in a seminar organized
by the University. Some faculty members are in University academic bodies.

of Research, Consultancy and Extension activities during the last five years?
Ans. The following measures are adopted by the institution to enhance quality of research,
consultancy and extension activities:-
(i) Experts are invited to orient the faculty in research methodology and in
identifying research problems and developing research designs..
(ii) Faculty members are encouraged to enroll for Ph.D.
(iii) The schools are contacted to identify their needs for consultation and
extension activities.
(iv) We distribute teaching aids prepared by our students to the practice
Teaching schools.
(v) Institution provides facilities to faculty members undertaking research
projects or doing Ph.D.
Q.2. What are significant innovations/ good practices in Research, Consultancy and
Extension activities of the institution?
Ans.
1. The faculty members are encouraged to participate in research seminars
organized by the University and other institutions.
2. The faculty members of the college provide consultancy services from time
to time to schools and other TEIs and they organize extension services in
practicing schools. The Principal and Professors of the college have acted as
resource person in training programmes organized by CTE.
