Critical Path Method
Presented by-Shubhi Verma
Introduction
The critical path method (CPM) is an algorithm for scheduling a set of project activities.
The critical path method, a project management technique created in the 1950s, allows you to identify these important tasks and stay on track throughout your project.

In any given project, you may have hundreds of tasks and dozens of dependencies. It can feel almost impossible to identify the most important tasks; the ones that, if missed, will impact your whole project. In other words, the ones you really need to worry about to make sure you meet your deadlines.
The critical path is defined as “the sequence of scheduled activities that determines the duration of the project.” It is the longest sequence of tasks in a project plan that must be completed on time in order for the project to meet its deadline. If there is a delay in any task on the critical path, then your whole project will be delayed.

The critical path method is a step-by-step project management technique to identify activities on the critical path. It is an approach to project scheduling that breaks the project into several work tasks, displays them in a flow chart, and then calculates the project duration based on estimated durations for each task.
Planning the project so that it is
completed as quickly as possible Identifying activities where a delay in
their execution will effect the overall end.

Identify most important task. Help reduce deadline. Compare planned progress with
actual progress. Determine shortest time in which a
project can be completed.
