D2Lite National Phase 2
The D2 Advantage™ Lite (D2Lite) Components and Site Qualification online learning module is the first of three learning modules available for D2Lite training.
This training will consist of three learning modules that were originally designed for individual learning. This mini Facilitator Guide is provided to you to help facilitate these learning modules in a classroom setting. It will not go through the modules slide by slide; rather, it will call out specific slides if they have something extra for you to point out or discuss as a talking point. They will also be called out if there are multiple interactions to be done.
In addition to the learning modules, you will have access to additional video resources and DOCK articles. All of these are called out within this Facilitator Guide. Each of the three modules can be launched from the following page:
https://www2.satinstalltraining.com/wp-content/uploads/D2Lite_LP/index.html

Finally, there is a Planner option on the bottom of each module, so three Planners in total. This will allow you to print a worksheet for each of the class participants, for each module, that they can use at the end of the course to determine if they feel they have the knowledge and information to continue. It will also give them a place to jot down any questions they may have.
The majority of the information is provided within the modules themselves. This Facilitator Guide will give you some additional guidance, but will have very minimal scripted items for you to say or do. Those will be called out with Say or Show icons.

Advantages of D2LiteOpen the D2 Advantage™Lite: Components and Site Qualification module in a browser window.
There are arrows in the lower corners that will allow you to navigate forward and back.
Many of the slides have interactions that you, as the facilitator, will need to navigate to and bring up on-screen. These usually only require a quick click of the mouse, or a tap if using an iPad. This second slide is one such slide. Please select and discuss each of the four options marked in blue on the screen.
This might be a good place to ask how each option is a benefit of D2Lite, and then reveal the module’s answers by selecting the answer.

This slide discusses the basics of the Grounding and Bonding.
Select each of the options highlighted in blue and discuss as a class.
When the Policies and Procedures option is selected, please say the following:
Per NEC Guidelines, the grounding wire will be a minimum #10 solid copper ground wire approved by DIRECTV. It must be continuous (un-spliced) and fully jacketed. Grounding wire will be run in as straight a line as possible, in vertical and horizontal runs. It will be run entirely on the exterior of the home whenever possible; that is, on most every home.
When installing a D2Lite enclosure on buildings with 4 to 30 units, the installation falls under the NEC grounding rules of properties with 3 or more residences.
In this installation the 20-foot ground wire limitation used on single and duplex buildings does not apply.
All applicable local and state requirements must be referred to and followed.

You will want to make sure that you have a D2Lite Enclosure mounted on a wall prior to this training. If you have a training house, it would be ideal to have it mounted and hooked up to the house. If you don’t have a training house, or access to a wall to mount the enclosure, you may mount it on a pallette for the purposes of this hands-on training.
Hands-On Exercise #1:
Have the participants remove the cover and flip it over so that they understand how important the service loops outside of the box are for gaining access to the enclosure post-installation.
Hands-On Exercise #2:
Have the participants add a second SWiM to the Enclosure, and ensure that all cables are connected properly and accurately. Each of the internal cables are labeled clearly, making the connections easier to manage.
The next (last) slide provides you with time to do any wrap-up or answer any questions, and concludes Module 2.

Select each of the options highlighted in blue and discuss as a class.
The most important thing to do when you do not see a Tie Building to Property survey or a Confirm Building Unit Count survey for an Existing Customer work order, is to look at their OLIs. This is the #1 way that you will see if the customer is already a D2Lite customer or resides in a D2Lite-enabled building.
The second-best way to verify whether or not D2Lite is already installed at a current property in the building you are in is to look for an Enclosure while performing your site survey.
