JAMMU, Oct 22: Two daystraining programme for RetainerLawyers of Rajouri and Poonchdistricts was conducted at DakBanglow, Rajouri.

The programme was inaugu-rated by Principal District andSessions Judge Inder Singh inpresence of MehmoodChoudhary, CJM Rajouri.

The master trainer JyotiSharma gave training to thelawyers about Legal AidScheme and concept of LokAdalats and various otherschemes. She also gave variousguidelines of National LegalServices Authority and StateLegal Services Authority.

Chairman, District LegalServices Authority alsoaddressed the gathering.

er course for para legal volun-teers of district Jammu includingTehsil Akhnoor, Bishnah and RSPura was organized at ADRCentre under the direction ofSanjay Gupta, Chairman,DLSA, Principal, District andSessions Judge on the topic"Role and Responsibility of ParaLegal Volunteers".

The resource persons whoconducted the proceedingsincluding Adnan Syed,Secretary, DLSA along withAmit Gupta and Sanjay Sharma,Retainer Lawyers of DLSAJammu.

The resource persons ask thepara legal volunteers to givemassive boost to the legal serv-ices activity in the entire Jammudistrict and made the people lit-erate about the legal servicesinstitutions and availability oflegal services.

JAMMU, Oct 22: DistrictInstitute of Education and Training(DIET) organized the Role Playand Folk Song Competitions underNational Adolescent EducationProgramme sponsored by the J&KState Board of School Education,here at Government BHSS GandhiNagar.

The participating schools werefrom the 8 zones of district Jammu.The themes for the Role Play activ-ity were healthy relationshipamong adolescent, charms andchallenges of adolescence,HIV/AIDS stigmatization andcauses and impact of drug abuse,whereas the themes for theNational Folk Song/DanceCompetition were equal opportuni-ties for boys and girls/removal offemale foeticide, respect and carefor elders, protection of environ-ment, drug abuse and charms andchallenges of adolescents.

In the National Role Play activ-ity, first prize was won by GGHSGandhi Nagar, second prize byGHS Raipur Satwari and third prizeby GGHSS Miran Sahib and in theNational Folk Song/DanceCompetition, the first position was

bagged by GHS Sarore-Bishnah,second prize by GHS Bhour Campand third prize by GHS GandhiNagar.

The activities organized underthe guidance of Principal DIETJammu Mangal Dev were managedby Darshana Kudyar HoD DIETJammu and assisted by DrAnuradha Sharma and Dr KalpnaJasrotia Lecturer DIET Jammu.

Remove anomalies in pay grades of clerks: GEWJACExcelsior Correspondent

JAMMU, Oct 22: J&K Govt Employees & Workers Association(GEWJAC) has urged upon the Govt to remove anomalies in the gradesof clerical cadre employees and implement 7th Pay Commission reportwithout any more delay.

In a meeting of the Association held here today under the chairman-ship of Babu Hussain, several speakers including Bharat BhushanSharma, Ashok Singh, Yash Paul Sharma, Jaswant Singh and ParshotamSharma expressed serious concern over the attitude of the StateGovernment. They strongly demanded that pay anomalies in the gradesof clerical cadre be removed, medical allowance of the employees andpensioners be enhanced from Rs 300 to Rs 2000 per month and 7th PayCommission report be implemented besides framing policy for the reg-ularization of daily wage workers.

Driver dies in accident

MENDHAR, Oct 22: Adriver was killed after he wasran over by his own vehicle inMendhar area of districtPoonch today.

A police spokesman saidthat 23-year-old Wasim Akram,son of Mohd Khalil, resident ofSangiot was killed after his ownTipper No. JK-12/6170 ran overhim when he was trying torepair some wires under thevehicle. His vehicle went out oforder when he was proceedingtowards Surankote fromMendhar. Near Police Post Ari,he parked his vehicle and laiddown under the vehicle at frontportion to detect the snag. Hetried to connect some wires.The vehicles got started andmoved ahead. The driver wascrushed under the front wheel.He was rushed to SDHMendhar and then referred toDH Rajouri but he died on theway.
