NEW DELHI, Apr 23:
Aiming to validate and fine-
tune its strategy to take overenemy land via sea, the Indian
military has just completed amammoth amphibious exercise'Jal Prahar' that saw participationof all three wings of the armedforces in the strategic Andamanand Nicobar Islands.
The exercise began onMarch 27 and ended earlier thisweek, defence sources said.
"The idea is to validate andfine-tune our strategy to takeover enemy land via sea. TheNavy, Army and the Indian AirForce participated in this wargame," the source said.
The aim was also to checkpreparedness and readiness of thearmed forces to ensure functionalintegrity of all three services andsecurity of the Islands.
Ships, aircraft and troopsalong with tanks from both theEastern Naval Command andAndaman & Nicobar Commandparticipated in the exercise.(PTI)
