From the Pastor
I found an interesting quote this week:
Alexander, Caesar, Charlemagne, and myself founded empires; but what
foundation did we rest the creations of our genius? Upon force. Jesus Christ
founded an empire upon love; and at this hour millions of men would die for
Him. –Napoleon Bonaparte
We know that throughout history and still today, many people have given their lives standing
up for their faith in Jesus Christ. In Colossians 1:26-27 we find, “the mystery which has been
hidden from the past ages and generations, but has now been manifested to His saints, to
whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the
Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
As we celebrate Christmas, we celebrate the physical manifestation of the revelation of the
greatest mystery of scripture, Jesus Christ. God’s love came to each one of us as a baby in a
manger. Jesus continued to love mankind all the way to the cross and beyond! I pray we will
do all we can to make this Christmas all about Jesus.
We will have quite a few opportunities in December to fellowship together. Sunday School
parties, our Tasting Bee, and Christmas by Candlelight are just a few. Have a great time being
together!
Merry Christmas!
