The FactDestination Marketing Organizations (DMOs) are facing intriguing challenges to provide quality information online in an era of information overload.
![Page 35: Destination Marketing on the Web](https://reader034.vdocument.in/reader034/viewer/2022052618/554d13ebb4c9052c5a8b53aa/html5/thumbnails/35.jpg)
However, with websites such as Facebook, Tripadvisor, Expedia, Google Maps, WAYN, etc., many people question the role of DMO/NTO/CVB’s websites in 10 years from now.
The Challenge
![Page 36: Destination Marketing on the Web](https://reader034.vdocument.in/reader034/viewer/2022052618/554d13ebb4c9052c5a8b53aa/html5/thumbnails/36.jpg)
While some others even question the role of OTAs in the years to come..
![Page 37: Destination Marketing on the Web](https://reader034.vdocument.in/reader034/viewer/2022052618/554d13ebb4c9052c5a8b53aa/html5/thumbnails/37.jpg)
A local or regional DMO should help to promote not only the destination as a whole, but also hotels, tourist attractions, restaurants, theatre, sports, activities in the destination itself.
The Objective
![Page 38: Destination Marketing on the Web](https://reader034.vdocument.in/reader034/viewer/2022052618/554d13ebb4c9052c5a8b53aa/html5/thumbnails/38.jpg)
DMOs need to go where the consumer is, instead of convincing the consumer to come to them.
The Solution
![Page 39: Destination Marketing on the Web](https://reader034.vdocument.in/reader034/viewer/2022052618/554d13ebb4c9052c5a8b53aa/html5/thumbnails/39.jpg)
