Indian equity markets couldcome under pressure over thefresh tension between the USand India over trade as Indiaretaliated with tariffs on 29American products. This decision followed the USending India’s $5.6 billiontrade concessions under theGeneralised System ofPreferences (GSP) programme.Last year, the US imposedduties on steel and aluminiumfrom India following which aretaliation was deferred untilnow.Several analysts have saidinvestors sentiments wouldbe impacted.“Tariffs to the tune of $400-450 million from all bilateraltrade of 142 billion dollar withthe US — this shows that theimpact is insignificant,” saidAjay Sahai is the DirectorGeneral and CEO of theFederation of Indian ExportOrganisations (FIEO).The US-China trade war haslong troubled the globalfinancial markets. The damagewas such that the globalgrowth took a beating, asnoted the In ternationalMonetary Fund (IMF).“Local investors will beworried as to how US couldreact to this. However, FIIs

This could trigger aresponse and which will notbode well for the Indianmarkets,” Jasani added. The Indian market, which iscurrently dealing withslowdown concerns, will notreact well if the US announcesfresh tariffs, several analystssaid. On Friday, Sensex slid andclosed nearly 290 points lowerafter reports that the Indiangovernment had decided toimpose retaliatory tariffs. Thefresh tension now adds to theslowdown concerns in theIndian markets.“There is always a fear thattariffs can be levied on moreproducts from either side. India Predicted XI againstPakistan - Two changes expected

in Shikhar Dhawan’s absenceAnother blow to India inthe past week was a thumbinjury to Shikhar Dhawan thatruled him out for the next twogames. In his absence, it isexpected that KL Rahulwill open the innings for the sidealong with Virat Kohli. It meansIndia will have to once againdecide on someone to bat atnumber four.Between Dinesh Karthik andVijay Shankar, India will, mostlikely, go for the latter. The right-handed batsman showed hisability to score quick runs at theposition in the home seriesagainst Australia, and can alsogive India another fast-bowling

option in the middle.Kuldeep Yadav has notenjoyed the tournament so far, having picked up just onewicket. India are likely to drophim in the crucial tie and theycould opt for MohammedShami considering the cloudcover which is expected to bepresent right through the day. Here is India’s predicted XI against Pakistan:Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, ViratKohli (c), Vijay Shankar, KedarJadhav, MS Dhoni (wk) ,Hardik Pandya, BhuvneshwarKumar, Mohammed Shami,Yuzvendra Chahal, Jaspr itBumrah,
