In/Out
• Use a ball and a box.• Model and feel the
shape of the box.• Student will place the
ball “IN” the box and “OUT” the box.
Open/Closed• Teacher would verbally say the
box is open.• Have the student touch and feel
the box.• The student would feel the frame
of the box.• Teacher would close the box and
the student will feel the difference in the position of the lid.
• The teacher would verbally state the box is closed.
Over/Under
• Use a fish bowl• Teacher will model
concept (hand over hand)
• Student will place hand under the water.
• Student will place hand over the water.
Top/Bottom
• Use a book• Teacher will model
concept• Student will touch the
top and bottom of the page.
• Teacher will confirm understanding of top/bottom of pages
Up/Down• Use stairway• Student will walk “UP”
the stairs.• Teacher will identify
walking “UP” the stairs.
• Student will continue with “DOWN” the stairs.
• Continue to practice
