Using Clients' Personal Snapshots and Family Photos
to Improve Therapy or Counselling Sessions:
2-‐day Introduction to PhotoTherapy Techniques
Saturday, Nov. 7 & Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015 • 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. • Vancouver, Canada ___________________________________________________________
This Introductory Workshop, taught by Canadian Psychologist and Art Therapist Judy Weiser (considered the world authority on PhotoTherapy Techniques) is an opportunity to learn how therapy clients' own personal snapshots, family photographs and pictures taken by others — and the feelings, memories, and thoughts these evoke — can be used to deepen and enhance therapeutic communication in ways not possible using words (or inner self-‐reflection) alone.
Learn how (and why!) to effectively and successfully incorporate photo-‐based interventions into your own therapy or counselling practice — and then directly experience the power of these techniques, by participating* in several guided practice sessions with some of the more important of these (for which participants will receive an "Advance Homework Assignment" regarding which photos to bring).
Important:
Participation in these exercises is voluntary; Workshop is for the purpose of professional education, not personal therapy
Prior experience with cameras or photographic art is not required
Open to everyone interested, including students (but non-‐therapists must receive Weiser's pre-‐approval to register)
Cost: before Oct. 20: $299 — on/after Oct. 20: $339 (A small number of student discounts are available; contact Weiser to apply)
CEU/CEC Credits will be available for a small extra fee to Mental Health Professionals attending
