at school results in stronger
learning and more successful
students. Parents who make
regular school attendance a pri-
ority are helping their children
learn to accept responsibility,
which is a valuable lesson for a
successful life. Attendance pat-
terns are formed early in life.
Children who develop good at-
tendance habits in the early
grades are more likely to contin-
ue them throughout their school
life, as well as into their chosen
career. Regular attendance is
critically important, because stu-
dents who miss school, miss out
on carefully planned sequences
of instruction. They miss out on
active learning experiences and
class participation. They miss out
on the opportunity to ask ques-
tions.

School Uniform
Uniforms are an important part of a school’s identity and increase student’s pride and sense of belonging to the institution. It creates a positive impact on students’ learning and behavior in and around the school, and serves to unite students . Prophet Muhammed’s Birthday
A special assembly was held in honor of the Prophet Muhammed’s birthday. The stu-
dents spoke about the Prophet's life and sang songs in his honor. The students con-
ducted a short quiz on the prophet’s life and distributed sweets among the winners.
Assembly on Careers—Grade 2A
On November 8th, 2018, Grade 2A presented an assembly
on the topic "What I Want to Be." Grade 2A students were
dressed up for different professions. During the assembly,
they talked about the importance of the professions they
represented. They also did a roleplay which further broad-
ened the knowledge of the audience on why different pro-
fessions are important to build an amazing community.
Grade 2A wrapped up the assembly by asking the audience
members about their dream professions. All in all, the as-
sembly was full of learning and engagement.
Mindfulness and Well Being– Grade 1C
Students of grade 1 presented an assembly on mindfulness and wellbeing. They showed their fellow students ways to being mindful and the key to their wellbeing- being active. Having goals in life, be-ing kind to others, making a difference and last but not least keeping connected. They reinforced the message to their fellow student by motivating them with a song " The more we get together".
Field Trip—Dolphinarium
On November 1st, Grades 2 A, B, C went on a field trip to the Dubai Dolphinar-
ium. It was a great opportunity for the students to build on what they had been
learning at school: animals. Students got to know the marine environment as
they explored around the Dolphinarium. They also learned numerous fun facts
about dolphins among them the most interesting being “Dolphins have belly
buttons.” After a few minutes of exploration, they were welcomed by the Dol-
phin Show crew. Students watched the Dolphin and Seal shows in awe as the
smart sea animals showed their talents. They not only got to enjoy the show,
but also got to learn lots of interesting information about the lives of Dolphins and Seals. Some of
their biggest discoveries were that dolphins are the second smartest animals after chimpanzees and
that they can be marvelous painters!! Furthermore, students got to participate in the activities and
games presented during the show. One lucky student even won a prize! Once back the Grades 2
looked back on their Dolphinarium field trip experience and wrote a narrative piece for English to
continue learning more about marine animals in science.
Student of Grades 3A & B along with Grade 4B went to Sharjah Interna-tional Book Fair .They not only bought a lot of books but attended 3 workshops for drawing & healthy cooking. Students took part in the various competitions organized by the organizers
Nutritional Assessment
As part of their practical nutrition courses, a group of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics students from University of Sharjah visited NAIS to conduct nutrition assessment
procedures (namely height and weight measurements) on a group of students (Grades 2,3,4 and 5) . Th results of this assessment will be shared with the school
nurse.
Martyr’s Day
NAIS expressed their gratitude & respect
to the martyrs by organizing a walkathon.
Staff, students and parents took part in
the walkathon . A special assembly was
also held at 11:30pm. Students read a
poem for the Martyrs and observed a
minute of silence in their memory.
UAE national day was celebrated with zeal
and pride at NAIS. Students, parents and staff
participated wholeheartedly to make the event
a success.
