The goal of this project was to update a Federal Style row house in Boston, MA to become ADA compliant and fit a custom professional kitchen with a baking center. The focus of the project was on creating drawings and details of the custom kitchen cabinetry and the creation of an ADA accessible bathroom. Based on the information gathered from the provided programming information and research on ADA compliance, a space was created that would meet the needs of the client while reflecting their preference for Mid Century Modern interiors.

3Maisons-suR-MeR Condo: MyRTle beaCh, sC
This project aimed to update an existing condo space in Myrtle Beach, SC from being an outdated family beach home to a retreat for the owner’s friends and colleagues. The design reflects the owner’s preference for traditional design and furnishings. The kitchen was opened to the living space, while a wall was added between the kitchen and dining space to make it a more private space.

This team project aimed to create a new, lively environment for a branch of employees of VF Corporation. These employees are currently working in an outdated space and in cramped offices. After interviewing a group of employees and taking a tour of the office space, it was clear that the design needed to address the uninspiring environment, the lack of storage, and branding. Our team used Steelcase for all of the systems and used other Steelcase brands for the lounge furnishings. The team worked together to create the best possible arrangement of systems, informal seating groups, and partitions. I created a SketchUp file of the entire space and a video walk-through that was presented to the client.

The purpose of this project was to design and create details of a new stair system to be installed in an existing stairwell space. Research was conducted on stair codes and fire ratings to ensure the stair design would be up to code. The stair redesign, inspired by details from Arden Architectural Staircases, pulls from the Mid Century Modern style by using a cantilevered stair system with a single, central “mono-stringer” support. The railing system, from Keuka Studios, brings a more modern interpretation of the design aesthetic through the use of steel railing supports and metal cording.

This design was created as part of the Bienenstock Furniture Library interior design competition. Harmony House in Seattle, WA is a runaway youth facility that fosters the rehabilitation of youth aged 10-17 by creating a nurturing, home-like environment. A sandwich shop located on the first floor teaches the youth about responsibility while brining additional income to the facility. The minimum square footage of each space as well as the furniture size & quantity for each space were provided as part of the programming.

The purpose of this project was to explore different materials, their properties, and how they work together. The project was done completely in Revit, complimented by a few hand renderings. The exterior shell of the building was provided, but the purpose of the first floor, design of each level, and location of the building was determined after researching various cities and codes. This design was located in Savannah, GA, close to many colleges and the historic district. The first floor acts as a home furnishings and accessories store, while the upper two levels are rented out for student housing.

The initial intent of the project was a desk lamp design competition for Goodman Millwork Company in Salisbury, NC. The design was to be made entirely out of wood and needed to be easily collapsed and reassembled for shipping to customers nationwide.
The SketchUp models and foam-core constructed models were judged by a representative from Goodman Millwork Company, and this design was chosen as runner-up. This design and model was also showcased at the High Point University suite in Market Square during the Spring 2012 High Point Furniture Market.

The purpose of this project was to explore the benefits of different types of materials and construction used in carpeting while creating a unique design. This design was inspired by succulent plants and the pale colors that give them a refreshing appeal. These plants have become popular as indoor, outdoor, or even wedding arrangements. The plants appear very smooth to the touch which is in contrast to the sharp point at the tip of the leaves. A Fibonacci-like spiral is an inherent characteristic of these plants and is replicated in the design of the rug.
16wallpapeR desiGn: budiR
The goal of this project was to explore the different types of materials used in wall coverings and their various benefits.
This design was inspired by the forms caused by water run-off from snow-capped mountains in Iceland. The natural
structure of the branched forms in the design mimic this pattern. The orientation of the forms reflects other natural
forms such as trees or long grass. The vertical element of the design helps emphasize height in any space.
The design is named for the small hamlet in Iceland where the mountains were photographed by the designer.
