Basedonexperienceworkingwithtouroperators,fishingbusinesses,outdoorgearshops,hotels,diveandkayakshops,restaurants,airports,andvisitorsbureaus,wehaveidentifiedfourkeyopportunitiestoincreaseMPApartnershipswithbusiness:Ø Printandvideomaterials:CollaborativeNetworkmembershavecreatedpostersandlocal

brochuresfordistributiontoWestMarine,baitandtackleshops,diveshopsandsportinggoodsstoresthroughoutthestate.TheSanLuisObispoCollaborativecreatedavideohighlightinglocalMPAsthatisshownonVisitorTVinhotelsthroughoutthecountyandatthelocalairport.TheGoldenGateCollaborativeengagedfishingandwhalewatchingboatcaptainstocreatewaterproofbrochures,whichtheyarenowhelpingdistributetocustomersandboaters.

Ø Digitalcontent:TheCaliforniaMarineSanctuaryFoundationhasworkedwithchambersofcommerce,oceanrecreationbusinesses,andtourismwebsitestohostspeciallycreatedMPAwebpagesaswellasaGoogleMPATourthathighlightsrecreationalopportunitiesandlocalbusinessesalongthecoast.MPAcontentisfeaturedonVisitCalifornia,theofficialstatetravelandtourismwebsite.SantaBarbaraChannelkeeperhasdevelopedtheNaplesDivePortal,whichprovidesinformationabouttheMPAaswellasaninteractivedivemapandlinkstolocaldivecompanywebsites.

Ø Trainings:KayakinstructorsandguidesaretrainedaboutMPAsinSanDiegoandElkhornSlough,andfishingandwhalewatchingoperatorsreceivesimilartrainingintheBayArea.InSantaBarbara,diversandfishermenaretakenouttoMPAsandeducatedon-site.

Ø Co-marketing:KayakshopsinSanDiegoproudlydisplayMPAAmbassadorlogos.InHumboldtCounty,alocalbreweryandchocolatecompanymadeattractivelabelswithMPAinformationfortheirproducts.MPAt-shirtsandhoodieshavealsobeendevelopedontheNorthCoast.
