For next lecture:
1. Read General Information and Syllabus. Download from Blackboard.2. Download the calendar for the course from Blackboard. This is a pdf file containing dates for exams, quizzes, help sessions, etc.
3. Download the homework assignments (pdf) for the course from Blackboard.
4. Buy cheap calculator (details to be explained).
5. Do Chapter 1 homework.
6. Call parents to make sure that airline ticket home in December does not conflict with Final Exam.
7. Learn names (including correct spelling) and symbols for first 36 elements of the Periodic Table. Also learn the names and symbols for iodine and mercury.
Other items: Chem 1113 Labs meet this week (starting TODAY, Monday, August 26). They meet in Room 132, directly across the hall from this room (133). Bring your lab manual, pencil or pen, and calculator to lab. Safety glasses and lab coats will be available for purchase in the laboratory when your section meets. Withdrawal from Lecture REQUIRES Simultaneous Withdrawal from Lab
If a student is enrolled in both Chem 1303 (lecture) and Chem 1113 (lab) in the same semester, a withdrawal from Chem 1303 REQUIRES simultaneous withdrawal from Chem 1113. Watch for Chemistry Society meeting announcements.
