Go wit Paris to St. Peter’s church or I will drag thee thither!
Out you baggage!
Good father, I beseech you on my knees, Hear me with patience but to speak a word.
Hang thee, young baggage, disobedient wretch!
I tell thee what: get thee to church a' Thursday
Or never after look me in the face.
Speak not, reply not, do not answer me.

That God had lent us but this only child,
But now I see this one is too much,
And that we have a curse in having her.

ANGRYShakespeare presents Capulet as extremely angry at his daughter, Juliet, because she defies him. To Capulet this defiance is absolutely unacceptable as he, the patriarch, was considered to be in charge. Capulet initially curses Juliet, 'hang thee' and his rage is clearly shown when be begins hurling insults at his daughter: 'young baggage’, followed by 'disobedient wretch!'. The adjective 'disobedient' reveals that he feels his authority is being challenged, and the exclamation mark at the end of the phrase emphasises his anger.
In Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare uses the character Lord Capulet to express the traditional gender roles and world-view of the time. In standing up to her father, Juliet is seen as having taken a huge risk, but also perhaps the first steps towards a freedom which was barely imagined in Shakespeare’s time.
I think Capulet is ____________________ because
When Capulet ____________________ he shows that he is
They way Capulet treats Juliet shows that he is ____________________ , for example
