CALL COMMITTEE TO BEGIN SEARCH FOR NEW PASTOR
we go from here. The Call Committee members are chosen from the congregation (not the Council) because you are active, committed members. You will have the help and support of your congregation and the Synod. Pastor Ted will be with us thru December 2017, but we may request that he be extended if necessary. This will not be a fast or easy process. The Call Committee will meet regularly to discuss the many issues facing our church and will be responsible to the congregation for collecting input. Among the many things to consider: Do we want/need a full time pastor or part-time? How will Thanksgiving Lutheran Church fit in to our plan? (We are no longer actively pursuing them). Do we desire Reconciliation in Christ (RIC)* or not? Ultimately, the choice of which Pastor to hire will depend on these questions being faithfully explored and answered honestly by our congregation. If you have strong ideas, opinions, recommendations on this process, please let us hear from you. Please plan to attend the First “Town Hall” meeting: June 4 after worship, the first of several of these meetings to help us in our quest.
“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to
help you and be with you forever—and the Spirit of truth. The world
cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you
know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.”
- John 14: 16 - 17
Friends in Christ,
Faith Lutheran Church Council has been busy laying the foundation for the search for a new permanent Pastor. With the spiritual guidance of Interim Pastor Ted Peters and the leadership of Laurie Wennes, our Council President, your Council has been coordinating with the Synod to make sure we are on the right track to find a Pastor that “fits.” The Council has identified some members whose talents and spirit and love for our church and congregation, would be helpful in deciphering God’s plan for us. (If you are chosen, PLEASE SAY YES!!!) Pastor Gallbranson, the Bishop’s representative, will guide us through the process of identifying, as a people, as a congregation, what we most value in our families, our church, our liturgy, our community and fellowship. These values will help to develop our vision for where

A Reading from Acts 5:20
“Go and stand in the temple and speak to the people all the words of this Life. And when they heard this, they entered the temple at daybreak and taught.”
