Fire Captains and Co-Captains
Each department should have at least one Fire Captainand one Co-Captain.
Fire Captain’s responsibilities are to make sureevery person in their department knows and follows the basic fire safety procedures.Co-Captain will take over responsibilities in thatpersons absence.I am the Fire Warden for the company.All designated personnel will be posted on a document located by the fire alarms.

Know the exit closest to you and the 2nd closest to you.
Then know the rest. Plan at least 2 ways out of the space.
There are Six exits from our office space.
There are Four staircase exits.

Fire Alarms
Know where the fire alarms are.
There are Four fire alarms in the outer hallways near the
staircase exits & next to our elevator bank.
Two on the Northeast side and Two on the Northwest side.

Using Common Sense
Know what to do if you see smoke or fire.
If you see a significant amount of smoke or if
you see flames:
Pull fire alarm and exit the space by closest
available staircase.
DO NOT USE THE ELEVATOR.
From a safe location dial 911: give name, address of our company.

Fire Extinguishers
Everyone in the company should know the fire
extinguisher location closest to them.
They also should know how to use a fire extinguisher.
Our office space has fire extinguishers in 25 locations.
The locations are marked by a red sign with
“EXTINGUISHER” written inside a white arrow.
All our extinguishers are rated for paper, electrical and
chemical fires. (ABC rated)

Headcounts and Designated Areas
Each Fire Captain must designated a meeting
area for his/her department outside the building
so a headcount can be taken.
The Co-Fire Captain will conduct the headcount
in the absense of the Captain.

Making Fire Captains Accountable
Each Fire Captain must ensure everyone in
his/her department has seen and understands
all the basic fire safety procedures in this fire
presentation.
Knowing basic fire safety will ensure a quick
reaction in the event of a real emergency.
