OSEI Focus for 2009-2010OSEI Focus for 2009-2010
• Working collaboratively with our Instructional Services colleagues to plan and deliver professional development opportunities and support for teachers, instructional assistants, and administrators.
• Increase vertical articulation between elementary, middle and high school special education staffs.
• Provide guidance to schools in the areas of reading instruction and math intervention
• Provide targeted support to schools in their use of data to support instruction for students with disabilities
• Provide guidance for teachers and administrators on how to respond effectively and systematically to students with challenging behaviors.
• Provide school-based professional development and support to teachers on how to address the needs of students with Asperger’s syndrome.
