Theintendeduseofthisproductlineisfortemporaryapplications(<2yearsduration).Assuch,theconsiderationsdocumentedinACI440.1R-06arenotpertinenttothisapplication.PerACI440.1R-06,forpermanentapplications(sus-tainedloads)therewouldbeanadvisedenvironmentalsafetyfactorof0.7appliedfordegradationoftheresinwithinthefiberglassstrapaswellasasustainedstresssafetyfactorof0.2.Sincetheintendeduseofthisproductisfortemporaryapplication,nodegradationoftheresintakesplaceinlessthan2yearsandnosustainedstresslossesneedbeaccount-edforasitisashortduration.Anacceptableworking/serviceloadshouldnotexceed50%oftheultimatetensilestrengthofthetendon(equivalenttoareductionfactorof0.5).

• Thelightweightnatureofthefiberglassbarslendstoeasyhandling in thefield.Thesoilnailelementscanbeverylongandstillrequireminimalliftingequipment.
• With a single fiberglass strap weighing a mere 0.454pounds/ft,largequantitiesofthismaterialcanshipviaflat-bed,thuseliminatingmultipleshipmentstoprojectsites.Thebulkoftheweightinshippingcomesfromthesteelbearingplatesandwedgecups.Thespacersandfiber-glasswedgesarenon-steelandlightweight.
