News for the Congregation

Food suggestions for July: bar soap, toothpaste & shampoo
Witness news
Baby Love Thank you for your support of this local project of the Witness Team. Your do-nations of diapers or cash made this possible. The Salvation Army, Food Pantry and the Homeless Shelter are recipients of the diapers.
Your continued donations are appreciated!
Nicaragua Mission
Thank you to all of you who have contributed to the Nica-ragua Mission both in money and prayer. As you know the trip has been cancelled and the country is in chaos due to the cruel dictatorship of Daniel Ortega. Hundreds have been killed and thousands injured. Food and clean water are in short supply. We are sending the funds con-tributed by our church members to El Ayudante Nicara-gua. There they will be used to house and feed the 29 chil-dren in there care, to supply medical items where needed, and to subsidize the wages of those who normally make there living transporting, cooking, cleaning, and translating for us when we are there. You can find information about El Ayudante Nicaragua on their website.
On-line Giving Information:
If you are currently paying your pledge at “Realm” on-line, please note that this year, if you are pledging, you should use the fund “2018 Pledge Year” so that it will be credited to the current year.
Under the fund menu just type in 2018 and it should pop right up! Those who do not pledge should use the fund called “non-pledge”. Call Peni Kehoe in the church office if you have problems or need help signing up on Realm for paying your pledge or giving your donations to other funds.
Books, Books, Books
There are books for the taking on a table in the hallway next to the sanctu-ary. Mr. Billy is clearing out his library, and there are other books yet to be placed on the table in the coming days.
Smart Lunch, Smart Kid Wednesday, July 25th
All rising 6th—12th grade students are invited!
Let’s be the hands and feet of Jesus in our community by serving lunches to our hun-gry neighbors! We will leave from the church at 11:00 a.m. and travel to a neighbor-hood north of Oxford where we will serve lunches and play games with the kids in the neighborhood. Afterward, we have lunch and go swimming together, returning to the church by 4:00 p.m.
Contact Dan Walden via e-mail HERE, or by text at 404-405-3559.

Dear FPC Family,
I pray that all of you are enjoying your summer break. Our teachers are using summer break to refresh and recharge for next year. They are also in the planning stages for next school year. This next school year is going to be a lot of fun. As always, we have a fabu-lous group of teachers lined up for the next school year. There will be some familiar fac-es and many new faces. We’re so fortunate to have such a talented and dedicated staff. Teachers officially return Monday, August 6, for preplanning, and Open House is on Thursday, August 9. The first day for chil-dren will be August 13.
I am busy preparing for our first staff retreat since I have been the director at FPELC. I am so thrilled to be able to provide this specific time of planning, training, and fun for our teachers. We are going to use this small getaway to train on using math and science in our classrooms, as well as doing some team building activities so that we can get to know each other better. Please pray for our time that it would be effective and fun.
We still have spots in our 1’s, 2’s, and 3’s classes. Please send your friends and family our way if they’re in need of a positive learning environment for their little one(s).
Thank you for your prayers and support. We’re so blessed to have such a supportive church family.
Blessings ~Kara
