Ultra-Lok ToolOperation
(Note Viewing Slot in Top of Tool )
1/ Activate Drill to move Clamp Carriage (visible through Slot) to near Clamp Head Mechanism.Allow Drill to “Coast” as Carriage nears End. When Carriage meets Stop-Clutch, a “Click” will be heard, disengaging Carriage Gripper and releasing Clamp Tail Stub,( failure to Coast will result in rapid hammer clicking and cause premature Wear of the Tension Screw. Big Bucks! )A couple of Clicks is OK, more than 3 is Poor Operation
2/ Insert the Clamp Tail though Tool Mouth. You will feel it engage the Gripper.
3/ Reverse the Drill Direction, Position Clamp within Texta Marks and depress Drill Trigger.
4/ The Clamp will start to tension. Note Position of Carriage through Slot. (If it nears the Drill-end, release the Trigger, reverse the Drill & repeat Step 1) Hold Trigger firmly down and the Electronic Torque Sensor will Stop Drill when chosen Clamp Tension is attained.
5/ Push Cut-off Handle all the way forward. A crushing sensation will be felt through the Handle. Park the handle. Taking care not to move the Tool, reverse the Direction and allow the Drill to “feed-out” the clamp with the tail still attached (Step 1 again) When the Carriage has reached full-travel, the Gripper will release the clamp tail and the Tool can be withdrawn.
6/ Grab the Tail near the Buckle, and “worry” it back and forwards until it shears. (Check that the Tail has locked into the under-housing of the Buckle)
7/ Hammer the Buckle down & remove any sharp edges with a file

CUT HOSE SQUARE WITH STANLEY KNIFE / BOLT CUTERS or STEEL-CUT-TING DROP-SAW
“COMPASS-CUT” ENDS TO KILL WIRE ( Using Bolt-cutter, cut down the hose end at 8 points to a depth of about 20mm. Carefully remove all loose wire pieces) Very important.
PLACE CLAMPS LOOSELY ALONG HOSE
PLACE SHRINK TUBE LOOSELY ALONG HOSE (tubing cut to hose-barb length, plus 20mm)

PUSH or RAM HOSE BARB INTO HOSE, LEAVING 20mm OF BARB FREE
USING CLAMP GAUGE, MARK DESIRED POSITION OF CLAMPS WITH TEXTA
SECURE CLAMPS USING UL TOOL*, CLAMPING BAND NEAREST-TO-NUT LAST.
FILE ANY ROUGH EDGES, POSITION SHRINK TUBE WITH 15-20MM OVERHANG TOWARDS NUT.
USING OXY TORCH ON LOW-PRESSURE, APPLY HEAT TO BLACK TUBE IN A FANNING MOTION, STARTING AT NUT END. CONTINUE UNTIL TUBING SHRINKS AND PROGRESS ALONG/AROUND THE TUBE UNTIL IT IS UNIFORMLY SHRUNK. (*CAUTION*- TUBING WILL BE HOT FOR 10 MINUTES)
INSPECT INSIDE & OUTSIDE OF HOSE, CHECK FOR SHARP EDGES, PRESSURE TEST IF NECESSARY
INSPECT ASSEMBLY, & C.I.P ASSEMBLY BEFORE PUTTING INTO SERVICE

1/PREPARING HOSE
CUT HOSE SQUARE – SHARP KNIFE or STEEL-CUTTING DROP-SAW
PLACE CLAMPS LOOSELY UP HOSE AT EACH END. SECURE LIGHTLY WITH STRING OR TAPE TO PREVENT THEM DROPPING INTO BUCKET.
HEAT HOSE- END IN BOILING (not just hot ) WATER . ( heat–up no more than 50mm longer than hose barb, or hose may collapse during the fitting Process)
HEAT HOSE ONLY UNTIL IT DISTORTS TO THE TOUCH. (ABOUT HALF MINUTE)(do NOT overboil the hose as it will cook-out the plasticisers and make the hose prone to cracking during chilled-milk Operations)

2 END PREPARATION & ASSEMBLY
SCREW A SPARE MALE BSM INTO THE NUT TO PREVENT IT BACKING DOWN THE FITTING.
SPRAY FOODGRADE LUBRICANT DOWN INSIDE OF HOT HOSE & OUTSIDE OF BARB
PUT FITTING ONTO THE FLOOR AND GENTLY FORCE THE HOSE ONTO THE BARB, LEAVING 20mm OF BARB FREE.
ALLOW THE HOSE TO COOL TO NO MORE THAN LUKEWARM BEFORE CLAMPING
USE CLAMP GAUGE TO MARK DESIRED POSITION OF CLAMPS
APPLY CLAMP NEAREST TO NUT LAST.
(Clamp with UL Tool, making sure buckle is hammered down, and rough edges are filed smooth)
INSPECT ASSEMBLY, & C.I.P BEFORE PUTTING INTO SERVICE
