leaps ability. No longer egocentric. 4. Formal operations period (Ages 12-15): Ability of logic,

abstract reasoning, hypothetical thought.

cultural and historical factors •  Acquire cultural tools via social

interactions •  Symbolic knowledge acquisition •  Language is key to cognitive development
