SMITH FRACTURE
Definition Smith fracture is a fracture of the distal radius are located ½ - 1 inch from the distal end of the radius with the distal fragment shift forward (volar) and up accompanied by a shift of the distal ulna to the back (dorsal).

A fracture is common in
young people, and is more
common in men than women
Patient falls with hand hold the body
hand position is in a state of volar flexion
of the wrist and pronation
Shift of the distal radius is not the
dorsal, but palmar direction
