small ponds to huge bodies of water.
These sources of running water account for a very small part of the earth’s total surface, just 3 percent
Freshwater wetlands are found all over the world.
Some wetlands are temporary and seasonal.
They occur for a few weeks then disappear until they are refilled.
Other wetlands are always underwater.
Location
Wetlands are found all around the world.
Plant life
Cattails live in wetlands.
There are not many trees in wetlands .
Weeds also grow in ponds, lakes and rivers and reeds.
Animal life
Yellow headed black birds live in the wet lands.
Mosquitoes live there too.
The blue heron feeds on fish.
Canada geese nest on beaver houses.
