AUTUMN WALK TO SKELTON WOODS
Year 1 enjoyed a lovely walk on Monday! We
spotted lots of signs of Autumn. We observed
changes to the trees, fields and forest floor.
The children enjoyed collecting leaves, sticks
and conkers to take back and create their own
wonderful Autumn art.
SURVEY
We received almost 200 responses to our online survey recently. Look out next week for a formal
response document.
Clearly electronic communication is preferred by most families. Do you know any families who
don’t receive our Friday Flyer or texts? Please ask them to call into the office. THANKYOU

ECO PLANTING AT CHURCH
This week our Eco warriors visited the lovely, ancient All Saints Church. Along with a group of volunteers from the Skelton Heritage Trust, we planted crocus and daffodil bulbs. These will bloom in the spring making the graveyard bright and colourful. We also built a bug hotel for the minibeasts using straw, bricks, sticks, recycled cardboard and even pine cones.
The chairman of the local history group was there and taught us lots about Old Skelton. Did you know there is even a smuggler buried there? The old church is located on the way out of Skelton towards Guisborough. It’s a beautifully preserved building. So pop down and visit it and see all our hard work for yourselves.
SAFETY: nuts & phones!
Please remember that we have children
with life threatening nut allergies.
PLEASE DO NOT send nuts as snacks or
include in packed lunch.
Please do not use your mobile devices
when on site.

After our recent family survey, a number of comments mentioned
leaders in school, asking who they were and what they looked like. Here
is a quick reminder for you:
Y5 Enterprise
This week Mr Campbell’s class have sold hot chocolate and cookies
every day at break time in the hope of raising money towards a trip
later in the school year. We managed to raise an outstanding amount
of £433.00!
Thank you to those in 5C for their hard work and
dedication. Well done.
A huge well done to our boys’ football
team who took part in an East Cleveland
tournament on Saturday. They
performed amazingly and won many of
their games, narrowly missing out on
being in the final.
A huge well done to our Year 5
and 6’s who took part in our East
Cleveland cluster Tag Rugby
competition on Tuesday.
A superb performance from the
whole team with a special well
done to Harrison, who was
awarded player of the
tournament.

East Cleveland Children’s Council
On Tuesday Ethan and Ellie welcomed members of the Children’s Council
when they visited our school. The children discussed their aims for the
year and decided that it was very important that all children should be
treated fairly. They listened to a group of children from Hartlepool who
were Junior Inspectors. They told us about an inspection they had
carried out at a local hospital. Thank you to Ethan, Ellie, Evie and Harley
for making our visitors feel so welcome.
