Fujikura Heatpipe to Be Used in Canon Digital Single-lens Reflex Camera
A Fujikura heatpipe cooling module was selected by Canon Inc. to use it in its digital single-lens reflex (SLR) camera.A heatpipe is a heat transferring element that uses the latent heat of evaporation and condensation of the working fluid and capable of transferring a large amount of heat with a small temperature difference.Fujikura thin heatpipes are used to prevent high-performance CMOS sensors or image processors from heating up during video shooting for hours or high-speed continual shooting. This is because the heatpipes absorb the heat of the devices efficiently. We will continue to expand our product lineup to meet customer needs.
JECA FAIR 2016(64th Electrical Construction Equipment and Materials Fair)
JECA FAIR 2016 is the largest exhibition for the electrical construction industry, where manufacturers and dealers of equipment, materials, and tools for electrical facilities gather together. The theme of the fair this time is "A life full of dreams, Toward a brighter future with Electrical Construction Technology." Fujikura, Nishi Nippon Electric Wire & Cable Co., Ltd. and Fujikura Dia Cable Ltd. will be jointly displaying equipment and materials and cables for solar power plants and wind power plants, wires and cables for industrial use, charging connectors for electric vehicles and a cable-type antenna. We look forward to seeing you at our booth.

Fujikura started its business in Myanmar, selling cabtire cables, optical fiber composite overhead ground wires (OPGWs) and optical splicers. The Myanmar government thinks that the upgrading of infrastructures is necessary for the country's agricultural development, alleviation of poverty and industrial growth. The country also understands how imperative it is to ensure a stable supply of power and improve communications infrastructures in solving the challenges for the development.Under the circumstances, we have increasing desire to contribute to the building of the country. With our sights on contribution to Myanmar's nation-building, we work on improving power and communications infrastructures.

We introduced Japanese power distribution systems (cables, equipment, insulators, etc.) in a section (about 5 km) of 33 kV power distribution lines and verified the validity of the systems. The construction of the systems was completed in October 2014, and supplies of power were stared. More than one year has passed since supplies of power were started, but no blackout has occurred, which proved the effectiveness of Japanese power distribution systems.
We provided training in Japanese safe, advanced power distribution construction work at the training site next to No.1 substation in Naypyidaw, the capital of the country. A total of 160 trainees have completed the training of 20 people per week for 8 weeks.
In February 2015 Fujikura set up a joint corporation, Barons & Fujikura EPC CO., Ltd. (BFE), with a local engineering company with the aim of improving transmission networks, distribution networks and communications networks. The new company has launched operation on April 1. We will exert our best efforts to contribute to the building of Myanmar.

Project name : Air-brown optical cable installation projectClient : Communication businessWork term : September 2015 to December 2015Work description : Installation (turnkey) of 96-core optical fibers for 58 km between Pathein and Ngwesaung, Ayeyarwady ProvinceAs this air-brown optical cable installation work was the first for BFE, the company carried out the construction work and successfully finished it after taking two-week-long training provided by a material maker.
Project name : Rural Electrification (JICA ODA funded project)Client : Myanmar Energy AgencyWork term : February 2015 to January 2016Work description : Local distribution network improvement project (33&11 kV)This project was founded by JICA for ODA. BME received the order before establishing BFE and organized and finished the project with BFE. The construction work was carried out to improve distribution networks straddling 11 local jurisdictions all over Myanmar. Although the materials were transported mainly by ships through rivers in rural areas, where roads are not sufficiently maintained, the construction work was completed thanks to help from the local communities.
