The Attack of The Unexpected: Trendspotting and Future Thinking in Turbulent Times
The world has shifted from being local and linear into being global and exponential. How do you plan and anticipate changes in such an environment? In this presentation, Magnus
Lindqvist explains how our traditional ways of thinking ahead are misleading and identifies the key success strategies of companies that seek not only to compete in the present, but also to create for the future.

Leading IS Transformation at AstraZeneca
With the challenges facing the pharmaceutical industry and the company’s IT function, Jon Kirby explains how he is making IS relevant and an integral part of AstraZeneca’s overall
business strategy. Jon will discuss how he is working to achieve this through a strategy built around three key focus areas: deliver competitive advantage; excellence in execution; and people. He will also give an insight into how AstraZeneca has implemented a new sourcing and operating model for its IT infrastructure in an accelerated time frame, moving away from a single source, one size fits all approach, to a multi-source ecosystem that delivers agility, flexibility, resilience and transparency. Jon will outline the principles driving the transformation of services across the ecosystem and the incentive mechanisms in place to drive alignment through end to end service delivery.

Beyond the Limits
Named “the world’s greatest living explorer” by the Guinness Book of Records, Ranulph Fiennes has led over 20 major expeditions, including the first unassisted polar journey
across Antarctica. In 2003, four months after sustaining a heart attack, he completed 7 marathons in 7 days, in 7 different countries. Since then, he has climbed the North Face of the Eiger and reached the summit of Mount Everest. In this presentation, Sir Ranulph describes what it takes to achieve outstanding goals, how to prepare and plan for the unthinkable in the most difficult situations, as well as the importance of teamwork and building strong relationships within the people you depend on.
