GOAL Mentees harnessing Social Media tools
A weekly voice of digital women leaders from hinterland of India
Institutional Partner
In West Bengal, mentor Sneha conducted a
session about the role of Social media and
shared some impact stories with the
mentees to help them understand how
individual and collective efforts can be
recognised easily with the use of social
media tools. They were also informed about
the power of Social Media and how many
people have used it to make their mark on the
world. With this background and practical
examples from around the globe, the
mentees were trained on uploading
community videos, creating their Facebook
pages. This was followed by another
assignment where the mentees were
educated about the role and major function
of each & every ministry. Sahina, Tahmina
and Ehira are actively posting relevant
videos about the villages, the activities going
on and tagging the relevant ministries.

Mera App Surey is in full swing in Madhya Pradesh
and Maharashtra. Mentees from Gadchirolli are
enhancing their social skills by regularly interacting
with the villagers. They are informing the people of
their community about the existing central and state
government schemes. They also helped many of them
register for the same, if they were the intended
beneficiaries. This exercise not only helped the
mentees with personal development, but it was
beneficial for the communities itself.
Mentors from Jharkhand are continuously in touch
with their respective mentees. Based on her
observations they have advised the Mentees of
Village Ranikhatanga to come up with ideas on how
they can showcase their work to their respective
communities, especially the Sarpanch and Sachivs.
The whole idea was discussed between the mentors
and the mentees. Hence, they came up with the name
‘MERA GOAL MERA GAON’ for the exhibition.
Mentees from the Village Ranikhatanga travelled to
Nauj to showcase their newly learned skills and the
products they created using the same. They have
been utilising these skills and earning a livelihood
with the support from Team GOAL. Under the
guidance of their respective mentors, the mentees
have developed both intellectually and financially.

Swati, one of our most dedicated mentees from
Gadchirolli is interacting with Khushboo.
Khushboo, is a friend of her Mentor Pranali. She
owns multiple- handicraft businesses in Mumbai
and is now a guide to Swati. She has been
teaching Swati about utilizing the waste material
and turning them to decorative pieces. It is a
beautiful practice of creating something
amazing from things considered to be of no use.
In West Bengal, our Mentor Primly conducted a
session after a gap due to struggles in Bengal on
CAA. She enquired about the mentees and took an
update about what they have been doing. She also
discussed the spread of Corona Virus in China and
Europe. She asked the mentees their thoughts
about the same. She also spread awareness
among the mentees and informed them about the
symptoms and precautions to take to avoid getting
infected. She advised them to also inform as many
people as they can
