are all about restricting, not about eating. And common sense will
tell you that when it comes to keeping weight off permanently,
feeling restricted is not a reasonable long-term solution. In fact,
a quarter century ago, Green Mountain pioneered the non-diet
approach to healthy eating that health and medical experts are
only now realizing is key to weight management.

most joyous results of managing your weight. Many of our past
participants, even the most sedentary, have told us that feeling
better physically and mentally came almost immediately to them
through exercise. They also discovered that feeling good was a
strong foundation for mastering their eating and stress, a skill they
began to learn at Green Mountain. This is why, over the years, we
have developed a variety of physical activity solutions for our
guests, no matter what their fitness level.
As with the nutritional element of our program, we will help
you develop a personal activity plan that’s enjoyable and do-able,
specifically designed for you and your situation back home.
Because we know that the key to sustaining physical activity over
a period of time is, quite simply, whether it’s accessible and fun.
Therefore, we offer as many alternatives as possible to help you
find an activity that works for you. Whether it’s a morning walk
with the Green Mountains of Vermont as a backdrop, aerobics,
aquasizing, tennis, c r o s s - c o u n t ry skiing, strength training or any
of the many act ivi ties we offer, we want you to discover the
happiness of movement.
To exercise your mind as well as your body, lectures on how
much exercise i s enough, the psychology and phy siology of exerc ise,
and myths about exercise and activity in relation to metabolism
are also components of learning how to just do it. In addition to
the fitness and health assessments each participant receives upon
arrival, we now offer the option of a personal training package
that includes body composition, fitness, flexibility and conditioning
tests, as well as a personal training session and a follow-up
program for monitoring progress and activity at home.

With over a quarter century of experience in teaching weight

want you to make specific choices in your program that are

and spirit. A beautiful setting throughout the four seasons, there’s
more than fancy foliage to admire in our corner of Vermont.

outlet shopping. Charming Woodstock is a center of galleries,
antiques, arts and crafts. Situated in the midst of Vermont’s best
