GROUP CHAT By Natasha Davies
Our group chat was useful in many ways, it
enabled us to all communicate as a
group and discuss our music video. Towards the start of the year
we used the group chat to share ideas and
show each other videos that we could get inspiration from.
Once we started to plan the music video we
posted pictures of the ‘blog bible’ in it. We had previously gone through
the blog bible and written our names next to the blog post that we
were going to do. Having this posted in the group chat meant
that all of us were able to view the pictures
easily and it made sure we wouldn’t get
confused about which posts we were going to
do. This stopped us from doing the same
posts by mistake.
The group chat was also useful when discussing
logo ideas for our company. We could all show each other the
drafts we had created and we then discussed whether we liked them or not. We also could quickly tell someone
what they could change to make the logo better. We also agreed on our final logo on the group
chat (picture of the final logo to the side)
Each week we had a blog check by our
teacher and in this blog check he told us about what was good on the
blog and what could’ve been done to improve it and make it better. We
got a ranking each week and by posting the
picture of the check in the group chat enabled
us to all view it and when we got positive
remarks it boosted our confidence about our work and improved
group morale.
The group chat was also useful when it came to filming the music video. We used the
chat to inform everyone of where to go
and the time. We also
discussed what to bring on the
group chat (spare clothes, cameras etc) so everyone was prepared for
when we filmed.
We also talked about the
planning of the music video on the group chat. For example, in this picture it talks about
certain scenes that needed filming. By
posting it in the group chat
everyone was aware of what needed to be
done and we all knew what to do when it came to
filming it.
Overall, having the group chat was extremely useful- mainly for
communication. It was the main hub for all of the planning outside of school and everyone were alerted of messages
immediately so replies were quick. General questions about the work were even asked
on the chat and the immediacy of the replies helped us to get our work done
quicker if we were stuck on something and needed help from someone in the group. It
was also very useful when it came to planning the filming days- we all agreed on
a time and a place to meet and even discussed the train routes and how we were going to get to our set locations.Without the group chat communication
would’ve been poor in our group and we wouldn’t have been able to achieve as
much as we did.
