Looking for Helpers - We are having a planning meeting for our feast day celebration. The celebration is planned for July 3rd, the actual Feast Day of St. Thomas the Apostle. Bring your ideas on how we can enhance the day. There will be a special Mass at 6:00 p.m. at St. Therese Church. At this time we will also welcome in our converts. A planning meeting is set for June 24th at 6:00 p.m. in St. Max Hall. We are one parish effective July 1st. It is a new beginning! Come and be a part of the new parish committee. Please Pray - For the repose of the soul of Barbara Tomosick, John Kavinsky, Sandra Fetsko and Mary Margaret Kitchen, parishioners of Grouping 229, who recently passed away.
Appalachia (St. Agnes) Project - Since we are unable to head to Kentucky this year because of the lack of funds and the virus, we have decided to do some work for St. Agnes. We are looking for young energetic people from the age of 13 and up who like to work with their hands. It is our goal to add a roof, like the one on the back of St. Therese Cafeteria, plus do some painting and other jobs as well. Sunday, July 5th - workers will be dropped off between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. We will celebrate Mass at 7:00 p.m. and have dinner afterwards. All youth can tent . Bring a sleeping bag. We will remain on the property until departure on Saturday, July 11th by 11:00 a.m. This is a great opportunity to do something spiritual, to put your talents and youthfulness to work. A meeting is set for Wednesday, June 24th at 7:00 p.m. in St. Max Hall to learn more about our plans.
Help Wanted! Help is needed to make stuffed cabbage and meatballs. We will be making them at St. Max Hall on Tuesday, June 23rd beginning at 9:00 a.m. Please stop down and lend us a hand.
Roast Beef Dinner - A roast beef dinner will be held on Sunday, June 28th in St. Therese Cafeteria. The cost is $10 per person and includes salad, rolls, roast beef, mashed potatoes and green beans. Hello, My name is Dave Colamarino and I am Father Dennis' nephew and Godson. This is the team's seventh walk and I am very excited to lead the team for the second year as Team Captain. I think we can all agree that this year has been one unlike anything we’ve ever seen. With so much happening, ALS doesn’t stop. In fact, every 90 minutes someone is diagnosed with ALS. In that same timeframe, someone loses their battle. This year is going to be quite different…for the safety of all, especially our friends with ALS and compromised immune systems, we will be walking VIRTUALLY! The Walk to Defeat ALS is on Saturday, September 12. You may donate and register online at http://webwpawv.alsa.org/goto/teamfatherdennis. You may also make a donation by mailing it directly to The ALS Association and referencing Team Father Dennis...
416 Lincoln Ave Pittsburgh, PA 15209 Our ask of you today is this:
1. Sign up to join the walk. You can walk around your neighborhood, a park, at the Christ the Light of the World parking lot, really anywhere you choose! (More details to come.)
2. Consider reaching out to FIVE people you know that would want to be a part of unlocking ALS. Ask them to join our team.
3. Reach out to myself or Shannon if you are interested in fundraising but not sure how to get started. We are here to help! Your help towards the advancement of new discoveries and treatments for those affected with this crippling disease is greatly appreciated. Should you have any questions, please contact me directly at 412-526-1075. You may contact Shannon as well at 724-980-8810 or [email protected]. Please share and let us know if you have any additional fundraising ideas.
My wife Shannon, along with our two sons, Luca and Sammy, and myself would love to have you as a part of Team Father Dennis again and support the fight against ALS. The walk, the cause, and people with ALS need you more than ever this year!
Here is a link to our donation form:
http://web.alsa.org/site/PageServer/?pagename=WLK_offline_gift_form&cons_id=7028369&pgwrap=n&fr_id=14360
Copies of the donation form are available in the back of our churches and on our website

Pope Francis Prayer
for Protection from Coronavirus O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope. We hope entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick. At the foot of the Cross you participated in Jesus’ pain, with steadfast faith. You, Salvation of the Roman People, know what we need. We are certain that you will provide, so that, as you did at Cana of Galilee, joy and feasting might return after this moment of trial. Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform ourselves to the Father’s will and to do what Jesus tells us: He who took our sufferings upon Himself, and bore our sorrows to bring us, through the Cross, to the joy of the Resurrection. Amen. We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our pleas - we who are put to the test - and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin.
One more week until our new parish, St. Thomas the Apostle, officially begins. In today’s Gospel we hear Jesus’ words, “Do not be afraid,” because every hair on our head has been numbered by our heavenly Father. We know that change isn’t easy, that leaving the past behind is difficult, and that no one knows what will happen in the future. We are a people of hope who are confident that with Jesus as our head and the Holy Spirit as our guide we will become a united parish community that effectively proclaims Jesus’ Gospel of divine mercy and truly witnesses to it by our lives. Let us continue to pray for our parish clergy team, our parish staff, and our leadership councils, that they will fearlessly lead us to be disciples of our risen Savior.
