Dassault Systèmes helps academic institutions develop programs to allow students to experience cutting-edge industry practices and encourage a learning-by-doing approach.
In numerous countries, students’ lack of interest in Science and Engineering will soon create a lack of engineers and technicians for employers. There is a real need to transform education systems to nurture the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) talents required to address this century’s challenges. Essential to this transformation are new educational practices to grow knowledge, skills, and abilities by leveraging the endless capabilities of Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE® platform.

insPiring future engineersFIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is a U.S. not-for-profit organization devoted to helping young people discover and develop a passion for STEM. FIRST attracts hundreds of thousands of youth, mentors, coaches and volunteers from dozens of countries. The annual programs culminate in an international robotics competition and celebration where teams win recognition, gain self-confidence, develop people and life skills, make new friends, and maybe discover an unexpected career path!
Dassault Systèmes wants to discover the engineers and innovators of tomorrow. To do this, we are delighted to be able to sponsor and support teams with our 3DEXPERIENCE platform, a library of predesigned standard parts, tutorials, and more.
The Dassault Systèmes sponsorship pack includes:
• Parts kits• Robotics tutorials• Forums, CAD models, and dedicated blogs at my.solidworks.com

neW Dimensions in stem summer cAmPsThe world’s first collaborative summer camp involved students from 55 U.S. high schools gathered simultaneously in Atlanta, Detroit, and New Haven and teamed remotely in a complete design-simulate-build experience. This first-of-a-kind summer camp stemmed from a joint effort between Dassault Systèmes and the Georgia Institute of Technology to create an end-to-end discovery experience of how engineers work in the 21st century, using the most advanced simulation technologies from the 3DEXPERIENCE platform and collaborative practices. Key resources to operate this unique educational experience are now available for everyone.

ADvAnceD engineering for the YoungestThe Bridge Design project helps students to learn the principles of structural analysis using the 3DEXPERIENCE platform as an integral part of a creative and iterative design process. For this project, students learn by doing as they complete a structural analysis. They create multiple iterations of the bridge while applying mathematics and science concepts as they explore parts, assemblies, and working drawings. They explore the advantages of stress analysis in structural design.
The Bridge Design project is intended for middle school and high school students. Educators can extend this project with a design-build-test activity with balsa wood and glue.
