Figures from Carrot CarInsurance, an insurer thatspecialises in telematics-ledpolicies for drivers aged 17-24, show a widespread lack of knowledge following changes.

More than one in five didn’tknow that some prescriptiondrugsnow fall into theprohib-ited cate gory.

And just 2.4 per cent of theyoung drivers identified Ro-hypnol, the so-called “date-rape” drug, as being bannedwhen behind the wheel.

A fifthwereeven unawareof the maximum six-month pris-on sentence for drug drivers,aswellas theone-year drivingban that falls into line with

drink-driving legislation.Shockingly, more than aquarter of people in the sur-vey said that they knew some-one who had driven while un-der the influence of drugs.
