Membership dues for 2014 will stay at $30. In order to save on mailing
costs and help our hardworking Treasurer, Anita Arduain, we are asking
all Members and Associate Members to send in your $30.00 dues now, so

for Anita!! Please send your check payable to the "Basque Cultural Cen-
ter" directly to Anita at 226 Bryce Avenue, South San Francisco, CA

Womens Club News
Our next meeting will be on Sunday, December 8
at 10 am. All are welcome to attend! We always
love to see new faces and new ideas.
The Women’s Club would like to thank all those who
donated baked goods and items for the raffle. We
also want to thank those who supported us by pur-
chasing raffle tickets. It is because of thoughtful mem-
bers like you that we are able to host so many events
for our children.
For the Christmas party on December 15, Santa will
visit the children after lunch. Each parent should bring
a wrapped present for each of their children with their
names legibly printed on them.
The Women’s Club Annual Dinner will take place at
the Basque Cultural Center on Friday, January 17,
2014 with no host cocktails starting at 6:30 pm fol-
lowed by dinner at 7:00 PM. Any woman can attend.
Please RSVP to Mayte Ocafrain at 650 589 2973 or
email her at [email protected] before January 12,
2014.
Pizza for Children on New Years Eve
There will be a pizza and movie option (supervised)
for families who attend the New Year's Eve banquet
and have small children who won't eat the New Year's
Eve dinner. Families interested in this option should
make a reservation with Valerie Arrechea for their
children (This is separate from the usual New Year's
Eve dinner reservations). For questions, please call
Valerie at 415-859-1154.
This is not a babysitting service. Only children whose
parents are attending the banquet are able to partici-
pate.
Attention Pilotaris
The kantxa will be closed from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on December 1st for the Gingerbread Etxea workshop.
San Francisco Basque Cultural Center
Restaurant Regular Member Discount Policy
The Basque Cultural Center board of directors would like to
clarify the guidelines for the BCC Restaurant discount for BCC
Regular Members.
Regular members in good standing, who are hos!ng a dinner
or lunch at the Basque Cultural Center restaurant or banquet
rooms, are eligible for a 20% discount. The discount does not
apply if the regular member is not hosng the dinner or
lunch, and does not apply to Associate Memberships.
Examples of situaons where the discount applies:
The regular member is hos!ng and paying for dinner or lunch
for his family and is not reimbursed by anyone. The regular
member is hos!ng and paying for a dinner/lunch party for a
special event and is not reimbursed by anyone for any por!on
of the bill.
Examples of situaons where the discount does not apply:
The regular member makes a reserva!on for dinner in the res-
taurant with co-workers or friends and pays the bill but is then
reimbursed by his coworkers or friends for their por!on of the
bill. A regular member makes a reserva!on for a dinner or
lunch in one of the banquet rooms and has someone else pay
the bill.
To assist restaurant staff in the proper applicaon of the dis-
count, regular members are asked to show their current
membership card when paying the bill and if using a credit
card, the name on the credit
card will need to match the name on the membership card.
Please contact the board of directors with any ques!ons.

why not show off your Basque? To wish someone a merry Christ-
