Download - Halo Happenings - June 2014
This month, we held our Incoming and Outgoing Board Mee ng. The mee ng was hosted at Donna Frize home— a vision in pink, wonderful food and the introduc on of the New Board. I am excited about the next year and looking forward to another successful year. I know that Pam Starr, as our incoming President, and the 2014 – 2015 Board will do a great job. I would like to thank the 2013‐2014 Board for all of their support, dedica on, advice and counsel.
Thank you to Lori Stenovich for the recogni on she and the Li lest Angel Guild received by her appointment for the second year as the Guild Representa ve on the CHOC Foun‐da on Board. She is now “re ring” from that role this year and focusing on our guild, provisionals and events.
In July, our new Board will be developing budgets and goals for 2014–2015 based on the results from the new and final event for 2014‐2015 – Great Kitchens of Orange County on June 7th. It is a difficult challenge to undertake a new pro‐ject and leverage our past fund raising experiences and “think out of the box” with new ideas. The commi ee, led by Terrilynn Nisle, has done a great job. Thank you to Pam Starr, Lori Stenovich, Connie Vargo, Roxanne Sco , Tricia Livermore, Lucie Forward, Pa Berggren, Valerie Varkatzas, Maria Lindsey, Flossie Thwing, all our volunteers, home‐owners, “chefs”, donors, sponsors and the en re team for their hard work.
This year we voted to once again roll over interest earned from 2013‐2014 to the endowment. Established in 2006 with a $25,000 endowment, the fund has grown. On Febru‐ary 13th, we received the report for the Li lest Angel Guild Undesignated Endowment for July 2012 thru 2013. Interest reinvested in 2013 was $5,063.54 and the total balance at year‐end of $107,022.06. From our event earnings this
year, we voted to have the first $100,000 rolled over into the endowment. Any amounts over this will be donated to the Transport Team. This is so that we would then have a substan al (over $200,000) balance in our Endowment. The results from the Founda on will be received in September. At our July Board mee ng the new Board will again deter‐mine how the endowment will be used and where our funds raised for 2014‐2015 will be used. The funds can be “reinvested” or we may designate the en re endowment to another program. CHOC Hospital has many needs and wor‐thy programs that need our support.
Thank you again for all of the work that you do on behalf of the Li lest Angel Guild and CHOC Children’s. On behalf of all of us, I would also like to express our thanks to Lynn and Michelle Coulter, who will be stepping down from the newsle er role this year. They have done a wonderful job of keeping us all connected with our “Halo Happenings” in web version, PDF and by mail – great job.
