HEP SOLAR POWER
PLANTS
RES-oriented development of HEP Group until 2030
HEP2030 Strategy is in line with the background documents for preparation of the Republic of Croatia’s Energy Strategy
The following renewable development scenario was selected:
01
Total capacity: 1,500 MW+ electrification through the development of the e-Mobility project (electric vehicles
charging points)
Purpose: 50% more RES, higher generation from RES
– an increaase from 6 TWh/year to 9 TWh/year
Revitalization
of hydro
power plants
02
Construction of hydro
power plants (HPS Kosinj/ Senj 2 HPP, pumped-
storage power plants (PSPP) and
small hydro)
03
Construction and
acquisition of RES
projects(wind farms, solar power
plants, other RES)
04
Construction of the highly
efficient gas-fired
cogeneration plants(EL-TO Zagreb CCCPP, TE-TO Osijek
CCCPP)
Solar power plantsuntil 2030
Total capacity: 350 MW (equal to HEP’s half of Krško nuclear power plant)
2019-2023: 20 MW/yeartotal value: HRK 750 million
2024-2030: 40 MW/year
The first four SPPs (Cres, Vis, Vrlika Jug, Kaštelir): 11.6 MW; HRK 80 million

Call for Expressions of Interest to potential partners for development and sale of RES projects
Target groups: Local self-government units (towns and municipalities) – mutual preparation of
spatial-planning documents for the solar power plants’ projects
Partners (legal or natural entities) interested for sale of the following projects:
- Non-integrated solar power plants (free standing solar panels) under development ≥ 2 MW
- Wind farms under development / in operation
- Hydro power plants under development / in operation ≥ 1 MW
