1.2.1.3 HiPath 3800
HiPath 3800 is the largest system of the HiPath 3000 family. It supports a capacity of up to 500extensions. HiPath 3800 hardware was introduced with HiPath 3000V5. The system is available in thefollowing configurations:
Single-cabinet system (basic cabinet BC)
Two-cabinet system (BC + expansion cabinet EC)
The BB (basic cabinet) contains 9 slots, and the EB (expansion cabinet) possesses 13 slots for peripheral
boards. In the basic box the CBSAP central control board has a fixed slot. The system is suitable for standalone installation and for 19" cabinet installation. 19" cabinet installationup to the maximum configuration is possible in one standard 19" cabinet without any additional heat sink.
The modular design of the power supply unit means that the PSU can also be set up for each cabinet withn+1 redundancy. The specifications for component placement must be adhered to in this regard:

Notes:
The hardware design of the HiPath 3800 cabinets is similar to the HiPath 4000 housing componentsAP 3700IP/AP 3700. There are no plans for a technical or sales migration path between the platforms
HiPath 3800 and HiPath 4000. The computer and peripheral boards implemented are not compatible andcannot be mixed across platforms.
TMEW21. Approved for E&M networking (interface type 1a with protocols: Immediate Start, Wink Start, DelayStart).
2. Approved for connection of a synchronous announcement device in UCD mode. Releasedsynchronous announcement devices: Speech Design, model Genius ST 440 (4 channels) or GeniusST 220 (2 channels), or Beyertone, model Musiphone Next Level. See also Service Information INF-06-001183.
Compatibility note for E&M networking: The E&M interface types 1, 1b, 2, 3, and 5 of the TIEL boardare not supported by the TMEW2.

1. The E&M network of the customer should be changed to interface type 1a of the TMEW2 board.(Protocols Immediate Start, Wink Start, or Delay Start)
2. If Option 1 cannot be realized for technical reasons, the HiPath 37xx still operates as an E&Mgateway. Between HiPath 37xx and HiPath 3800 a TDM network with CorNet-protocols has to beused.
Connecting peripherals
There are various options on the backplane of the HiPath 3800 for connecting the peripherals. Theconnection option to be used is established in consultation with the customer on conclusion of thecontract. Detailed descriptions of the connection options are contained in the HiPath 3000 servicedocumentation.
HiPath 3800 as a 19" systemHiPath 3800 as a two-cabinet system
(standalone)
1.2.1.3.1 Power failure option for HiPath 3800
The UPS variants 48 V/7 Ah battery pack and 48V/38 Ah battery cabinet are supported for HiPath 3800.
The appropriate cable sets are also required for connecting to HiPath 3800.48V / 7Ah battery pack: One per system cabinet (each cabinet equipped with a maximum of2 x LUNA2, approx. 60% load), bridging time approx. 25 minutes.
48V / 38Ah battery cabinet: One per system (basic cabinet + expansion cabinet, equipped with atotal of 5 x LUNA2, approx. 60% load), bridging time approx. 90 minutes.
For HiPath 3800 please note also the following:
In the case of a UPS with a battery that is charged by the system, an additional LUNA2 powersupply unit is required for each cabinet (with power box 3000).
The 48V/38 Ah battery cabinet should be used for systems with n+1 redundancy for the powersupply unit or with more than 2*LUNA2 units for supplying boards in the expansion cabinet.
1.2.1.4 HiPath 33x0 and HiPath 35x0The HiPath 3350 and HiPath 3550 models are available as wall mounted systems. HiPath 3000 systemsare increasingly being integrated in data networks. As part of this integration, the systems often need tobe installed in 19" racks. The 19" model variants HiPath 3300 and HiPath 3500 are offered to cover thisrequirement.
The 19" model variants HiPath 3300 and HiPath 3500 are derived from the corresponding wallconstructions HiPath 3350 and HiPath 3550. RJ 45 ports are provided for all peripherals. Structuraldifferences are dictated by the configuration. The range of features is the same.
The direct connection of base stations BS3/1, BS3/S, and BS4 to UP0/E ports on the basic board meansthat the features of the integrated cordless solution HiPath Cordless Office are available in both modelversions.
The 19" model variants are available only with an uninterruptible power supply.

OpenStage 10, 15, 20 are, like optiPoint 500, 100% driven by the HiPath System (stimulus). Thelogo is equivalent to the text string, which can be entered in the HiPath-System (e.g. HiPath 3000V8). This text string will not be displayed on the OpenStage 40-80 idle screen (differing fromoptiPoint).
15 default logos are stored on the HiPath 3000 MMC card. Additionally one customer selectable logocan be uploaded via the Manager E.
For OpenStage 40T logos the BMP-format is supported. For OpenStage 60/80T logos the PNG- andJPG-formats are supported.
Only one logo can be used on a system wide basis for all subscribers. Several logos in one HiPath3000 system (tenanting) are not supported.
Automatic line seizure (pr ime line dial ing):
With systems with automatic line seizure (prime line dialing):
The fixed programmable key for call diversion of an OpenStage 60/80 phone cannot beprogrammed for internal numbers. Due to the automatic line seizure the HiPath system willinterpret the stored number under the fixed call forward key as an external number.
For call diversion to internal targets a free programmable touch / sensor key is to be used.
Internal numbers in the caller list are treated like external numbers
optiPoint Mode:
As of OpenStage V2 SW, the OpenStage phones 10T, 15T and 30T support a downgradecompatible mode, called optiPoint mode, which enables the connection of those phones to olderHiPath 3000 versions. Thus the availability of system integral phones has been secured also for oldersystems, once the optiPoint 500 phone family is phased out.
In optiPoint Mode OpenStage 10T / 15T and 30T behave like optiPoint phones. Further details aboutfunctionality and tested HiPath versions can be found in the OpenStage sales release information.
SW upgrade via the SLMO card is not supported for phones running in optiPoint mode. This has to be
performed manually via USB stick instead.
