summer vacation.
Holidays are great but school work can be fun filled and
inspiring too if done on your own.
Holiday home work is a part of formative Assessment and
will be assessed on the basis of creativity and efforts put in
by the students.
Set aside each day for doing home work.

ENGLISH( GRAMMAR)
1. Design an English magazine which should have the following requirements
a. An attractive cover
b. Name of magazine
c. A short story
d. Advertisement
2. Do worksheet no. 1,2,3 in workbook
3. Make a rhyming dictionary. Start with simple words as you can think of. For example long,
strong, belong etc.
4. Write a paragraph on the topic “My idea on a fun weekend.”(Include details of activities
you would plan, places you would visit and people you would like to meet or spend time
with.
5. Revise chapter done in the class.
ENGLISH (LITERATURE)
1. Read the book “six short stories’
2. Read English newspaper daily. Write minimum and maximum temperature from 1 June
to 25 June 2015.
3. Revise the syllabus covered in the class.
4. Prepare a greeting card for year grandparents thanking them for everything they have
some for you.

The homework is for internal assessment and carries 10 marks
Work should be in a neat condition.
1. Make a project on “ROLE OF GOVERNMENT IN HEALTH ‘. COLLECT RELEVENT PICTURES
AND DATA ON HEALTH CARE IN INDIA, PUBLICH HEALTH SERVICES. PRIVATE HEALTH
SERVICES, HEALTHCARE AND EQUALITY (IS ADEQUATE HEALTHCARE AVAILABLE TO ALL?)
2. Write short notes on :
a. Public meeting
b. Legislative assembly
c. Press conference

d. Chief minister
3. Write in detail about different kinds of taxes collected at present. Are these in cash, kind
or labor services? Collect and paste relevant pictures also.
4. Compare the temples shown in chapter – 2 (history) “New kings and kingdoms” with
some present day temples in your city, highlighting any similarities and difference that
you notice.
5. Find out whether there any buildings built by Delhi sultans in your area. Are there any
other buildings in your area that were built between the twelfth and fifteenth centuries
and describe some of these buildings and draw sketches of them
6. List some primary health centers or hospitals near your place. From your experience or
by visiting any one of them, find out the facilities provides and people who run the
centre.
7. What are the minerals found in your state? Make a list of object which are made of
those minerals
8. Collect pictures of some famous monuments and find out which are the rocks used to
build them.
9. Read the “earthquake – a case study” given in the headline that appeared in the
newspaper after the quake in Nepal and some state of India. Arrange the events in the
right sequence of their happening
10. Read a newspaper daily. Collect (at least 15) cutting of the newspaper related to the
proceeding in the parliament, women empowerment, inequalities in the society, any of
the fundamental rights.
11. Do practice the map work.
12. 4. Write the names of few political parties at the national level. Write down the names
and their symbols and the pictures of few important leader of that party.
