3:30 Songs of the Singing Cowboys in the Movies DOWNLOAD THE HANDOUTS
The Singing Cowboys flashed across the silver screen from 1930 to 1954. The film credited with being the last of the singing cowboy westerns was Phantom Stallion starring Rex Allen in 1954. They shaped our lives and then they were gone. However, the music still lives on for us to remember. Stop by and relive those memories, as we sing some of those great Songs of the Singing Cowboys.

Some movies feature songs that have become so iconic, they’re forever linked with the film they accompany. Many Hollywood movies were scored from original Broadway musicals. Here is a short collection of songs that appeared in Hollywood movies over the years, from the 1930’s to present. It was certainly hard to pare it down to just what could fit in an hour. The Burning Uke Crew will lead this play-along/sing-along.

1:15–2:30 How to Learn New Songs and Find their Rhythm DOWNLOAD THE HANDOUTS
This class is for those ukulele players who would like to go beyond the basic ukulele group (survival) strum and find new methods of learning songs.
In this day and age there are so many ways to learn new songs. From the old tried and true methods of listening and typing to— YouTube, Slow downers, Word processors, Chord (lyric) searches, song lessons online, private lessons online. Looking at a variety of these, we will see how they work and how and when to use them.
We will also learn how to play each song with a rhythm that works well.

Intro to Jazz Standards DOWNLOAD THE HANDOUTS
Jazz standards and popular songs of the 20s, 30s, and 40s are timeless treasures. In this workshop we will learn a few classics adapted to the uke with all the original beautiful chords. We start with some easy open chords and gradually move to some more difficult arrangements with the goal of learning how perfectly these wonderful songs can be played on the uke with the original chords instead of over simplifying them and losing the original richness. Written arrangements provided.
