Welcome to North Park Covenant Church online! We’re glad you’re here.
For your prayers this week: the family of Wilma Cruz, mourning her unexpected passing last Thursday; Herb Hedstrom, recovered from the pneumonia, and his cancer seems to be in a quiet phase; Fred Holmgren, recovered from COVID and doing well; Barb Goode and family, mourning the sudden passing of her cousin Rachel Larson, following a sledding accident; Susan and Kevin Guttormsen, mourning the passing of Kevin’s father, Richard Guttormsen; Bud Hodgkinson and family, mourning the passing of his wife, Audrey, on January 14; Pastor Libby’s dad, Craig Johnson, continuing to recover following surgery on his epiglottis; Jim Hosek, undergoing new chemotherapy treatments; Dick Lucco, feeling hopeful his treatments will continue to lower his PSA numbers and stop the spread of the cancer; Rosemary Slaughter, mourning the passing of her cousins Dick and Shirley Meeks, from COVID; Rosemary Slaughter’s nephew and his wife, Brandon and Lindsey Harms, diagnosed with COVID; Nancy Ebner’s mother, Margaret Johnson, recovering from hip surgery and recovered from COVID; Sandy Edstrom’s grandson Matt Carlson, his girlfriend, and his roommate, diagnosed with COVID; Barb Goode’s nephew Kendall King, recovering from a plasma cell tumor that caused a break in his vertebrae; all of the healthcare workers and first responders, who regularly sacrifice their own health and that of their families to care for sick patients
Please join our Zoom coffee hour immediately following worship today. The link will be shared in the chat, and the format will be that of a few discussion questions based on the sermon, and we expect our time together to last about 20 minutes. This new dimension to coffee hour will allow us to see friendly faces and contribute ideas and insights. We hope to see you there!
These last many months have been long and hard for many and in many ways! Recognizing the ongoing financial hardships that have been brought on by the COVID pandemic, as well as the changes in unemployment benefits that have come about recently, NPCC wants to help in whatever ways we can using the benevolence fund that you all have so generously given to! If you or someone you know is need of financial assistance in these days and weeks, please feel free to reach out to the pastors ([email protected]) or to one of our Deacon chairs, Tim Johnson (tjohnson2@northpark .edu) or Joanna Sjoblom ([email protected]). Your request will be held in confidence, and we will work to help in the ways that we can.
Are you in need of assistance with errands or other small tasks? Please feel free to reach out to either Pastor Libby or Pastor Jeff. A few people have offered to help in this way, and they would be happy to get you the help you need!
The Covenant Home Altar has arrived! Copies are available for pick-up in the Dawsons’ foyer (5243 N. Christiana), or you can let Ann-Marie know if you’d like a copy mailed to you, and she will be happy to do so.
Save the Date for an Online Scholastic Book Fair! From February 14 to 27, you’re invited to check out North Park Church Cooperative Preschool’s Book Fair homepage. There are two ways to shop! On that homepage, you can shop from The Scholastic Store Online, featuring over 6,000 items, or through the Virtual Book Fair, with over 200 top-selling books. All orders ship directly to your home and earn 25% in rewards on purchases made during our fair. In addition, enjoy free shipping on book-only purchases over $25. Thank you for your support of the Preschool!
Continue Heartwalking the Neighborhood with us in 2021! We will include an image of the location to pray for each week in the hopes that you will pray for them as you walk or drive by, or even as you sit in your living room. See this week’s location at right. Thank you for praying for our neighborhood!
The text for today’s anthem is as follows:

We welcome all people to begin or deepen their relationship with Christ through worship and study. We invite all believers to fully participate in the life and ministry of our church as members, leaders,
and lay staff. We celebrate the gifts and presence of diverse Christians among us—whether those differences be race, ethnicity, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, ability,
or socioeconomic status. We are blessed by our diversity and are unified in Christ.
