HumanResourcesIntern2016TheHumanResourcesInternwilldirectlyassisttheManagerofHumanResourceswithawiderangeofprojectsrelatedtoHRcompliance,recruiting,onboarding/orientation,employee benefits, and administration. This internship is designed to be botheducationalandpractical.Inthisposition,theinternwilllearntotakeskillssheorhemayhaveacquiredinschoolrelatedtohisorherparticularareasofinterest,andapplytheminaprofessionalsetting.Heorshewillgainabetterunderstandingoftherolethathumanresourcescanplayinacompany,andbebetterpreparedtoworkinthearenaofhumanresources. Inadditionthe internwilldividehisorhertimewiththeexecutiveofficeinaadministrativesupportrole,reinforcingthebasicoperationsofacompany and employee engagement. The intern will also have opportunities tonetwork with themarketing, operations and professional services teams to furtherprofessionalexperience.

TheHumanResourcesInternwilllearnthepracticalapplicationof:

• Stepsinthehiringprocess,including:creatingjobdescriptions,reviewingresumes,conductingtelephoneandin-personinterviews,andmakingjoboffers.

• Theimportanceofemploymentlawandcompliance,especiallyregardingemploymenteligibility,confidentiality,propermaintenanceofemployeefilesandformsmanagement.

• TheinterrelationshipofHRandFinanceintheareasofnewemployeepaperwork,payrollissuesrelatedtoonboardingandtermination,useofapayrollmanagementdatabase,andreportgeneration.

• EmployeedatamanagementthroughtheuseofaHumanResourceInformationSystem(HRIS),implementationofaHRISsystemandemployeesystemtraininginadditiontootherdatabaseandsystemsmanagement.

• Employeebenefitsmanagementissuesrelatedtoplanrenewalandenrollment,benefitsenrollmentandtermination,troubleshootingemployeebenefitsissuesandquestions,andthecustomerserviceaspectofbenefitsoversight.
