I Am The New Year
I am the New Year. I am an unspotted page in
your book of time. I am your next chance at the
art of living.
I am your opportunity to practice what you have
learned during the last twelve months about life.
All that you sought the past year and failed to
find is hidden in me; I am waiting for you to
search it out again and with more determina-
tion.
All the good that you tried to do for others and
didn’t achieve last year is mine to grant provid-
ing you have fewer selfish and conflicting de-
sires.
In me lies the potential of all that you dreamed but didn’t dare to do, all that you hoped but did
not perform, all you prayed for but did not expe-
rience. These dreams slumbers lightly, waiting
to be awakened by the touch of an enduring purpose.
I am your opportunity to renew your allegiance
to Christ who said, “ Behold I make all things
new.” (Revelations 21:5). “I Am The New Year”
Have a Blessed and Joyous New Year 2018

How Do I Become A Christian?
Have you ever wondered what you must do to become a Christian or what
you must do to be saved? The Bible has an answer that is easy to under-
stand.
FIRST, you must understand that you need to be saved. The Bible says you
need to be saved because you are a sinner. Your sin has a penalty. You
cannot save yourself. The Bible says, “all have sinned” and the “wages of sin
is death”. (Romans 3:23; 6:23)
SECOND, you must understand that you can be saved. You can be saved
because Jesus died on the cross for your sins. The Bible says, “God demon-
strated His love of us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for
us.” (Romans 5:8)
THIRD, you must know what you need to do to be saved. The Bible ex-
plains how you can be saved. Acts 3:19 says we must repent and turn from
our sins. But repentance alone is not enough. Ephesians 2:8 says that we
must place our faith in Jesus Christ to be saved.
NOW, you must want to be saved. God is waiting for you to “want to “ and
then ask Him to save you. The Bible says, “that if you call upon the name of
the Lord you shall be saved”. (Romans 10:13)
If you are ready to trust Christ as your Savior and Lord, invite Christ into
your heart right now by praying to Him. You may word, your own prayer or
use the prayer printed here. The important thing is that the prayer is sincere
and personal.
“Dear Lord, I know that I am a sinner. I know you died for my sins. Right
now, I invite You into my heart to be my Savior and Lord. I willingly turn
away from my sin and give my life to You. Thank You for saving me,
AMEN.”
Welcome to God’s Family, you have just made the greatest decision of your
life. Tell a Pastor or another Christian friend about your decision as soon as
possible.
“And let us not become weary in well doing, for in due season we will reap if
we faint not.” Galatians 6:9

New Beginnings
I am the creator of my life’s Path
This is the year to consider the possibilities
and allow myself, the bravery of beginning a
new. Perhaps I will travel, maybe I will start
looking for a new job or career, I might
even go back to school or decide to claim a
new pattern in an existing relationship. I
am the creator of my life’s path!
Before I embrace a new role, I pause, I
move my attention gently and purposefully
into my heart space. I become fully present
in this moment taking a deep, conscious
breath.
I ask myself, what is mine to begin? I feel
the question move through me with each
new breath. Attuned to creative power, I
listen and feel for an answer. I am the crea-
tor of my life’s path.
Bible Verse: This month shall mark for you the
beginning of months; it shall be the first month
of the year for you. Exodus 12:2

BECAUSE WE CARE
Sentences With Sense
The key to contentment is to re-
alize that life is a gift not a
right.
He that is busy is tempted by
one devil; he that is idle by many
A man wrapped up in himself
makes a very small package
There is no substitute for quality
in a Christian
When arguing with a fool, make
sure he is not doing the same
God’s well of love never runs dry
Better never to have been born at all
Than never to have been “born again”

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. FREEDOM ROAD:
There was a time when living free was so far down the road
They told the blacks be satisfied discrimination showed
But then one day a leader came and showed us how to fight
He told us that the way was hard, but freedom was in sight.
He took the time to preach and teach and pave the rugged road
Not knowing if he’d have the strength to bear that awesome load
But he knew God would walk with him and cared about his own
So on he trod down freedom road to make his felling known.
Sometimes he’d feel he’d lost his way, but then the light shown through
And he would hear God say to Him. I’m walking next to you
So then again he’d make a vow to fight for blacks and whites
Because he knew not just the blacks were due their civil rights.
