Mastic Lions to BeHosts to Officials

A new and significant contributionto the field of child development wasannounced today by Sonotone Cor-poration of E l m s fo r d, through ICharles Babula , manager of Sono- 1tone of Eastern Suffolk.

This is thc publication of "Con-serving Our Children's Hearing," aGOspagc book written by Sonotone 'sPresident, Irving I. Schachtel, whichexamines in a detailed and scientificstudy the tremendous social problemof hearing impairment aiuong Amer-ican children.

The work cannot be considered apromotion message for hearing aids;in fact, it is a plea that measures betaken to eliminate some of thecauses for hearing aids. It is pub-lished as part of Sonotone 's generaleducational program to bring homethe importance of caring for out-hearing. In this , it is a companionwork to the Sonotone-sponsortd"Human Ear in Anatomical Trans-parencies," recognized by the medicalprofession as one of the most au-thoritative textbooks ever publishedabout thc human ear.

Because it brings into sharp focusfor the first time the magnitude andneglect of poor hearing among schoolchildren, this new- book is expectedto be a standard reference* book onthe subject in all li'braries. It shouldprove of special interest to parents, teachers and educators, school boardmembers, physicians and c i v i cgroups. Free copies are available toall interested persons at Sonotone'slocal office , 5:J Oak street, Patchogue.
